Will we have HALF as many people in the stands as they do today in Provo? How in the heck can BYU pack 20,000+ in for basketball? That's remarkable.

They don't have a million people living in Provo.
They don't have a brand new arena.
They don't have illustrious bball tradition.
They DO love their football team.
They DO have another major school just down the road.
They DO have an NBA team just down the road.

How do they do it? Why can't we get 8,500 to show up for every game? This stuff drives me nuts.

I completely and totally agree. Its Christmas break too. I saw that. Their fan support up there is unreal.

Mormons vs Baptists. Big Rivalry game.

In their recent game vs Prairie View A&M the attendance was 11,000, less than 50% full.

They are mormons, probably not much else to do there besides sin.

I think once conference season rolls around we will be getting some pretty good crowds. This is a fun team to watch and support, students need to step up big time though.

I totally agree. I hate our pathetic support for b-ball. I know what drives some of it though. I work for a large energy company in Tulsa and found out that we have 10 season tickets to OU b-ball. I was somewhat surprised by that since it seems like there is a lot of OSU alums there. Anyway, I got two given to me last season to use and asked the admin about them and she said most of the time they never even get used. Now these seats were PRIMO. Center court, about 15 rows up or so...and they never really got used. I wondered how many other of those empty seats you see on TV were due to the same thing??? Very irritating to say the least!!!!!

I have noticed though..that there are quite of few places that have week crowds during this time of year. I have noticed it on a few national games on TV and I went to an OSU game a few weeks ago with a friend (he had an extra ticket) and their crowd was horrific too.

I do think Kruger will bring back some interest...but not sure we will ever have 10K consistently.

Our fans are a total joke. It is embarrassing. How are there only 1,000 OU fans at CHK Arena in OKC?!? We don't deserve a good program.

kEEP WINNING AND THEY WILL COME But please quit *****ing about it all the time it gets old.

Just wanted to point out that there was more OU fans than OSU fans, for what its worth.

Also, tickets were like $50 after surcharges. That's $10 more than an entire season of student tickets.

I'd donate Kyle Hardick's gimpy ACL to science if we had 11,000 in Norman the next time Prairie View comes to town.

Outside the bluebloods of basketball, there's a lot of attendance issues in college basketball. texas in a game this year in Austin had an announced crowd of 8,900 and turnstile count of 4,000 in a 16,000 seat arena. osu, the basketball power that they are, has been playing to crowds comparable to OU in LNC the last few years. We'll have pretty good attendance come January if we continue to play well and conference foes come to town.

I'm sure the reason there weren't many OU fans tonight in the CEA is that the great basketball power in the state, osu, bought up all the tickets!!! NOT!!! There's not anymore aggie fans in the arena than there were Sooner fans!

You would love to think that BYU had a football following, but it is non-existent when they are bad. Couple that with a Jimmer phenomenon in a state with only one real draw, and there will be a big crowd. OU will draw if we keep winning. I can't imagine a situation when Kruger won't keep us competitive. Kruger seems to care so much more about attendance than Capel. If he brings the enthusiasm with a winning product, the crowd will come.
