Well, then I stand corrected. I don't understand why any team with a losing record that didn't play their way in via the tourney route would get an invite to a post season tourney?

I believe that these tourneys require a certain financial commitment from the schools (minimum ticket sales, etc). So they go with teams that might draw some limited tv interest as well. It is all about the money for those tourneys. For the schools they have to consider it an investment of extra game time experience for their players. Some schools pass. Who knows what OU would do if they were invited?

The CIT and the CBI. I'm not sure about this but I think a school has to pay money to the tournament organizer in order to get an invite. If that is correct, I think it would be money well spent by Joe. Playing in one of those tournaments would help prepare the Sooners for MM in 2012.
