Greivis Vazquez? Whoever that is went in the 1st round.

The NBA wants team players in the 1st round, and Willie Warren not being a team player in 2009-2010 at OU cost him scary money in the NBA.

He'll have to prove he is a team player before he see's those "0s" expand in his contract down the road. His first contract will definitely be lacking the potential he had entering OU as a freshman.

Congrats to Okies Ekpe Udoh, Xavier Henry and Daniel Orton!

Vazquez is a quality player from Maryland, not sure how well he translates into the NBA cause he has limited athleticism but he played bigtime for them last year including a great win over Duke.

Onto your second comment, not really needed now I think. Pretty poor form to hate on these kids who played for OU at this point.

If he doesn't get picked (which is becoming more and more likely now) it will go down as the biggest fall from grace in OU basketball history.

No hate. Just stating the facts.

I never mentioned his draft value pre-draft as that would have been hating.

He should get picked in the 2nd round, which still classifies him as the biggest fall from grace in OU basketball history.

You don't go from being preseaon #1 NCAA player and Top 5 projection to the 2nd round without that being a fact.

I believe he is in SHOCK right now as he NEVER thought this was going to happen. No matter how much was written in the media and how much Capel warned him of such risk, he deep down inside thought "Willie Warren" was going to hold value to keep him in the 1st round.

Didn't happen.

He still is young enough to be able to right his ship, but it cost him a truck load of cash.

That guy you're praising, Vasquez, had some attitude issues of his own.

I could be wrong, but I really don't think Warren would have been a lottery pick last year. He got some good buzz from college analysts, but I really think the NBA scouts would not have liked him nearly as much. Having said that, he would have been much better off going out last year.

Disagree. His stock was extremely high last year. That's why he should have went pro. He got terrible advice. You go when your stock is high because you never know what will happen.

Put me in the camp that doesn't think he was a definite lottery pick. Possibly? Yes. Was he a rock solid lock? No way.

I dont think Willie was a guaranteed lottery pick by any means if he came out last year but there is no way he wouldnt have been picked from the 15-25 range because of the hype etc. Willie is an undersized 2 guard with short arms, no left hand, not a great dribbler and a suspect pro jumper. I think these weaknesses would have come out more in pre draft camps if he decided to declare.

Willies drop had a lot more to due with him being unhealthy all year then because of his ego

Myron Patton reported that he had some back spasms shortly after he rehabbed his ankle and couldn't do as many workouts for teams as he wanted. As far as his draft stack falling, I think it was a mixture of both the attitude (which can be dealt with if handled correctly) and the ankle.
