While it's an honor to be invited to the USA training camp, the selfish side of me would rather see Trae spend the summer working out with his teammates in preparation for the August trip to New Zealand and the start of the season next fall.
Am I the only one who feels that way?
I'm with you. I'm pleased that Trae was honored with a invitation, but in the perfect world that exists only in my brain, he declines, with thanks.
Here is a link to the 28 players on the initial roster.

Only 12 players will make the team and travel to Egypt.
I am selfish from a different angle. I hope Trae is good enough to make the 12-man roster.
I noticed Bol Bol has an OU offer, is he a long shot or do the Sooner really have a chance?
I notice a couple of players that OU recruited are on the list of 28 players invited to try out for the team: Marques Bolden and Payton Pritchard. If Pritchard had stuck with his OU commitment, we wouldn't have gotten Trae IMHO.
I was bummed when Pritchard switched his comm to Oregon. Now, I'm glad he did. OU got the best of the two in Trae Young.

I understand your viewpoint, but don't you think we'd have gotten four years from Pritchard and are likely to get just two or even one from Trae?
If so, I'd choose PP.
When I ask myself if we need a pass first point guard or one who can set up his teammates, yet stretch defenses with his range and find a way to score when the game is on the line, I always get the same answer. Next year's team needs scoring more. Trae gives us the best of both worlds.
Just announced on twitter he's skipping to work at OU with teammates.
