Young talent? Mid-Major Talent? Bad coaching?

You are probably right. I just think Cam and Romero have the potential to be really good in transition.

Oh, I agree. I'd love to see them out and running. It's the other guys I worry about, lol.

Alright, there seems to be some disagreement on the board about OU's talent level. A lot of people (myself included) have maintained that OU has mid-major players in prominent roles, while others think they are just young.

Here is how I would break it down:

High-Major Players
Cameron Clark
Romero Osby
Calvin Newell
Tyler Neal

Low-Level BCS Players (guys who play a role for teams like Nebraska, Oregon State, Ole Miss, etc)
Andrew Fitzgerald
Steven Pledger

Mid-Major Players
Carl Blair
Barry Honore
CJ Washington

Unknown
Sam Grooms
Casey Arent

this post is a joke right?
You have newell who hasn't done crap yet as a high major player.
YOu have neal as a high major player. He looks promising but don't think he will ever be a dominant player.
Don't see how you don't list Fitz as a high major but do neal.:ez-roll:

Dont trust me, trust Lon Kruger. He practrically spells that out:

On Junior Guard Steven Pledger:
"Steven's a guy who can make shots."
-Kruger

On Junior Forward Andrew Fitzgerald:
"Andrew's a guy who appears to have a knack to score."
-Kruger

On Sophomore Guard Calvin Newell
"Calvin's a guy who has a ton of ability."
-Kruger

On Sophomore Forward Tyler Neal:
"Tyler will give us the versatility of playing an undersized inside position or as a bigger guy on the perimeter."
-Kruger

He thinks Newell and Neal have the athletic ability and talent to do everything on a basketball court, and he thinks Fitz and Pledge can do one thing. Which is what others have said as well.

damn man, you have lost your mind. reading what you want to see

if i was drafting from among ou's '11-'12 roster, i'd take fitz 1st. he was pretty clearly ou's 2nd best player last year. put him next to a long, shot-blocking big and his defense would look a lot better.

I would take him second behind Cam Clark. Fitzgerald is a bit like a mule. He isn't flashy but he will get the job done, particularly on the offensive end of the floor. Cam has more potential and I expect Cam to be better than Fitzgerald this year.

Newell and Neal = Big Time Athletes who can shoot just as well as Pledger.

Not sure what you have seen from Newell to label him just as good a shooter as Pledger. Neal has shown some ability to hit from long range, but calling Newell a shooter based on what he has done, is confusing/laughable, IMO.
