So much this, except for the Lakers.

I've had my heart broken by OU football a lot in my life. But I knew they'd always be back. I knew that night in April 1988 that we'd never be back on that stage again. Sadly, I've been right.

The Jayhawks were not the better team that year. And I still can't stand any mention of Danny and the Miracles.

If it makes you feel better, unlike the Celtics, the Lakers have lost almost as many NBA Finals series as they've won . But I'm with you in that nothing has bothered me as much as that game in April, 1988. I remember letting my dog out for a moment, then going back in and staring at the TV for what seemed like hours. I also had a bad feeling that we may never get back to that game again in my lifetime...and we obviously haven't. I remember how excited I was in both 2002 and 2016 during Final Four week. We were 2-1 against two of the three other teams in the 2002 Final Four...and we rolled Villanova in December prior to our Final Four rematch in 2016...just couldn't get it done either time.
