04-05: After coming off of a year in which we were besieged by injuries and missed the NCAA tournament, Kelvin brought in Terrell Everett and Taj Gray. We finished 25-8, 12-4 in the conference, and won a tourney game.

07-08: After a year in which we were severely short handed and missed postseason play entirely, Capel brought in Blake Griffin. We went 23-12, 9-7 in the conference, and won a tourney game.

The point is that in college basketball bringing in just one or two instant impact guys can turn your fortunes around dramatically in a very short period of time. Coach just has to find those guys. This is the most important recruiting class of his career.
