They're are rivals... But its hard to believe its almost been 10 years since the OSU plane crash. One of the classiest moves Sampson ever did was having the guys wear orange in pre-game warm ups after the crash.

ESPN is doing a special on sunday morning at 8am on outside the lines about the crash

Thoughts and prayers to the families that lost someone that day.

I was at the game in Stillwater when we came out in the orange T-shirts. Very classy gesture on Kelvin's part.

They whipped the dog **** out of us once the tip went airborne. Good grief, what a shellacking.

I was there as well. sad stuff. Sampson was a class act that day. I also knew Pat Noyes well, still miss him. I have the DVR set.

I forgot about Pat Noyes and his brother, Dan. Used to play driveway ball with them 25 yrs ago.

I didn't know Dan very well but have met him. I knew Molly pretty well at one time but have fallen out of contact over the last 7 or so years.

Agreed about the classy move by Sampson.

I was at both the Missouri game (first game in GIA after the crash) and the OU game... both games packed an emotional punch.

I'm 100% certain that I've never felt as much complete and total visceral emotion in GIA as I did for that Missouri game... but I'm also certain that the emotional cheer by the fans when the OU team came out in those orange shirts also cannot be matched.

Finally - I also can't believe it has been 10 years, but I'll never forget it.

Here's how I found out... I was actually in Dallas that weekend visiting friends. We had watched the OSU-Colorado game earlier that day at the OSU Alumni watch party at Humperdink's.

So several hours later -- probably around 7-8 p.m., we were driving down Greenville on our way to the bar when my sister, who was an OSU student, called me on my cell phone and told me that word was spreading around Stillwater that one of the team planes had crashed... at that point nobody knew which plane/who was involved... all we knew was that it included "some players" and possibly "some coaches."

My friends saw my face go white and I could barely spit the words out... so I told my sister to call me if she heard more... She called back about 30 minutes later and said the coaches were all OK, but there were a few players on the plane, but she didn't know who.

Finally, about an hour later when we were at the bar, they broke in on ESPN with the story about who all were on the plane, etc.

We just sort of sit there in stunned silence... it's still hard to believe it happened...

I was at the Vista when Channel 9 first started posting reports.

Jeff, your post brought some serious chills. Those memories are still really fresh.
