At least thats a Good sign. I rather see “questionable” then see “Out” . That lets me know she isn’t as bad as I thought she was. Because from the looks it honestly could have been way worse . I would honestly sit her out this game so she can have more rest on that shoulder.SEC availability reports here: SEC Student-Athlete Availability Report: Women's Basketball - Southeastern Conference
Beers listed as questionable
They showed Liz on the bench in the second half. It looked like her face was swollen. It must have been a pretty brutal foul because they never showed the replay of it.Raegan Beers did not play in the 2nd half at all. Which I was completely fine with. We are gonna need her against SC Sunday.
I hope Liz Scott is ok. She never played again after her injury.
I noticed Jennie ran out there instantly, no waiting for the officials to give her permission. I also agree about the offensive fouls. For some strange reason, I thought the officiating might be better in the SEC. Silly me.....With apologies to Liz, her taking that shot to the face was my favorite moment of the game because Jennie instantly sprinted out to check on her, without hesitation. She clearly cares about each member of this team so deeply. The "love one another, love Oklahoma" mantra isn't just a saying: it's the culture embedded. How could players not want to come play for her?
On another note... we all know that officiating in women's college basketball leaves a lot to be desired, but I've particularly been frustrated by all of the offensive fouls called on Raegan and Sahara. They are often SO much stronger than their defenders and make strong, controlled moves to the basket, but if the defender falls down, it feels like it is a called charge EVERY time. It's annoying to watch and is clearly frustrating to the players. I believe Sahara had three of them called against her yesterday (one of them made her so mad she had to run to the bench to keep her cool), and all of those count as turnovers. We're all frustrated by the unforced silly turnovers (I'm okay if we ban lob passes to the post; no one on this team is good at throwing those), but as Jennie keeps preaching: she's okay with the turnovers that come within the freedom of the offense. Sahara and Raegan's post moves are definitely among those, even if officials keep wrongly rewarding the defenders.
Some look familiar but others don't.SEC refs and Big 12 refs are the same people. There is no such thing as SEC refs. They call all over the country. Some as many as 5 nights a week. Lots of frequent flyer miles!
lol, told the wife she was lucky she didn’t get the T, it would have been a crap move to do it, but that’s the rule. I’m guessing since Liz ended up off the court they looked the other way.I noticed Jennie ran out there instantly, no waiting for the officials to give her permission. I also agree about the offensive fouls. For some strange reason, I thought the officiating might be better in the SEC. Silly me.....
The TO’s are driving me crazy… most are just horrible decisions… not due to the run/gun she plays but just stupid decisions.I’ll say this… What frustrates me is the careless turnovers. But not only that but it’s turnovers that shouldn’t even be turnovers and they some how manage to do it over and over again. Some times they learn from the turnover before then sometimes they don’t. Another thing that is frustrating me a lot, Skylar Vann. Idk what it is about her but its like she literally forgot how to play basketball. She looks very uncomfortable, VERY uncomfortable. She just doesn’t even look like herself anymore. She acts scared to put the ball on the floor and drive it and she acts like she is scared to score in general. She just idk she looks completely LOST in the lineup. She acts scared being defended when she has the ball. Honestly I expected a different Skylar this year and I have yet to see it. I expected her to put up about the same numbers she did the past couple of years and its not even close to that. There are games she doesn’t even score a bucket or even attempts for one.
Idk man. I had high expectations for this team but Idk if I do anymore. I do believe it can still be there but right now? Absolutely not. We have got to stop with the Turnovers and get our top players scoring again.
If we can get Beers, S. Vann, Verhulst, and Williams all over 10pts a game in the same game it could be TOUGH to beat us but right now its really only Beers and Verhulst scoring double digits.
We have our toughest game of the season coming up tomorrow @ 2pm CT @ South Carolina. And boy it could honestly go one way or OU WBB puts up a fight. Only if we limit our turnovers (which I doubt they will) and play good defense or we get man handled.
With Beers not 100% makes me extremely nervous for this game. And we don’t know anything on Liz Scott yet. I saw her face was swollen after the game. Didn’t look pretty. I hope she has no concussion.
Beers
Sahara
Payton
Skylar
Lexy
Reyna
Beatrice
All gotta have a good game for us to have a chance against South Carolina.
Yes I Believe we can hang with SC but whew it can be hard at times saying that with the amount of unnecessary Turnovers we have a game. Hopefully this is the game that changes things
