2014 espn

He visited UCLA. Westwood is a nice place. Any high school basketball player could contact the Bruin basketball office and stop by and say hello.

He's recruiting them, not the other way around.

Hammond was invited to a closed camp and visit at UCLA.

Yes, any player can contact UCLA bball office but not many of them are going to get videos taped of them, article written about them, fan boards posting about them, and the coaches watching them.

It did not however lead to an offer so there is that...

OU is not "on par" with Nebraska and TT in basketball. Sorry.
I wouldn't make the claim that OU is light years ahead either....

They are both BCS conference schools that get good publicity.
I wouldn't say a recruit holds OU in much higher regard than TTU or Nebraska right now unless they are like a huge Blake Griffin fan.

OU isn't nationally perceived as a basketball school and the past few years have had some pretty bad seasons...that's what recruits see.

I would say OU has a better program than TTU and Nebraska based on coaching staff, history, and financial support but from an 18 year oldrecruits perspective...I don't see them seeing much of a difference

I rarely post here, however I do enjoy reading and seeing what people have heard or know regardless of what fan base it comes from and appreciate the posts bball fan!

Yeah, what 18 year old even knows who Blake Griffin is? TTU & Nebraska were probably in the elite 8 in the past 5 seasons and had the #1 pick in the NBA draft too.

Great points aggy. Thanks for validating what we already knew about aggy IQ and objectivity.

Any 18 year old can clearly see that hillbilly ford is elite. He has 1 NCAA tournament win. Well, any 18 year old with an aggy IQ can see that.

I'm pretty sure I said....

One really good player went thru OU but that doesn't really change the "program".

That's like saying Marcus Smart is going to change the OSU program...once he is gone Ford is going to have to re-load with new guys and continue winning.

I don't think saying OU is a notch better than Nebraska and Texas Tech right now on the recruiting trail is that much of a stretch.

I wouldn't say OSU is anymore than a notch better than them either. I would call OU and OSU second tier bball schools behind the big bball programs like duke, UK, UF, Ohio state, UCLA, Indiana, KU etc.

Neb and TTU are like third tier.

And as far as recruits think...they aren't going to care whether Texas Tech had went to elite 8 5 years ago or whether OU did...It's a big public well-known school in the Big 12. They are going to probably look at how they relate to the coach, other players, and the college town more so than the history of program in that situation

thanks man.

i'll flat out admit that I'm an OSU fan but I follow OU and OU recruiting pretty closely just like recruiting in general. I have opinions and people here may disagree with some of them but I really don't think I'm being a jerk or outrageous about anything

If OU hadn't of backed off Marcus Smart he would be a Sooner. The fact that Kruger told Hammond to take a walk just shows the kind of talent he will be signing. Word is, Emmanual Mudiay is a silent commit.

A silent commit to who?

Don't believe half this troll crap.
Just FYI...
@TheRecruitScoop: Oklahoma has offered 2015 SF E'Torrion Wilridge of Houston Hoops (TX).

@VerbalCommits: Loyola Marymount is expressing interest in 2014 Oklahoma Magic (OK) big man Jacob Hammond. @J_ham_24 http://t.co/EQMWQiem8r

Loyola and UCLA or IU.... NOT THE SAME.
All Loyola is expressing interest if he was a UCLA IU type LM would jump a little faster.

This site does a really good job with recruiting!

He is actually getting interest from ucla and IU also st.johns. Hammond had a big weekend at pangos and was one of the top performers. I think Kruger made a huge mistake if he did pull the offer because jacob has vastly improved his game.

I hope you are an OU fan for your own sake for bringing this up...they are less likely to run one of their own out for presenting the truth..

For the record, I don't think Hammond is IU or UCLA caliber player but that doesn't dismiss the fact that they are recruiting him

Of course bmd is just another aggy with nothing better to do than stalk big brother. His only other posts this year were defending Marcus Smart.

The objections to your posts came not because you're an aggie (though honestly, that's reason enough), but because they were inaccurate, ill-informed and clearly slanted. You can pronounce them "the truth" all you like, but doubling down on a lousy hand doesn't make it a good one.

You cited Kruger not commenting on Hammond as some sort of evidence that Hammond had ditched OU (WT quickly schooled you on the rules that restrict coaches from speaking about recruits, but you never acknowledged his post). You compared OU's basketball program to Tech and Nebraska and cited the mere fact that all three are in major conferences to back up your claim. It was an absurd statement, and your defenses of it made it worse. You either can't bring yourself to give OU's basketball program due credit, due to your loyalty to all things aggie, or you're too young to know how specious that comparison truly was. My money's on the latter, but perhaps it's a bit of both, I don't know.

Believe me, there are plenty of reasons to dismiss your posts in this thread that rank higher than your fondness for orange overalls.

That darn Aggy just mad cause we pulled Smart,Nash, Jurick, Guerrero, Cobbins, & Clarks scholly offers, I predict this year we finish ahead of them, they have been very lucky the last five.

Not an osu fan I defended Smart because he is a good player and didnt deserve the criticism y'all were giving him for a 4-21 game. I stand by what I said about Jacob, I do think Kruger has made a mistake. He is a kid who has made a jump thanks to bryatt vann working him out and his work ethic.
