2015-16 Season: Big 12 Teams Personnel

So, nothing? I'd like to learn of the recruiting violations of which you're aware. Or...are you making up the infractions to support your "why would he ever want to go to OSU" mantra.

I wouldn't know who's violating recruiting sanctions or not. I would however love to heard TFord's pitch to these kids. For a team that seems to underachieve with regularity the man brings in top tier talent year in and year out. Even my OSU friends haven't been real happy with what they've done with what they've had. Aside from the brief span with keiton where they didn't have much else if I remember right.

On a side note I'm really disgusted with Kentucky... how does one team have more All Americans than most power conferences?? And now they have a televised preseason combine?! I'm sure that will do nothing but help.

Come to osu where you can push opposing fans, slam chairs, and be be idolized for it by your coach while underachieving year after year.

How about $ to players, Parents getting overpaid jobs, Grade fixing...

Right...that's what I figured, broad generalizations that could be applied to any program in the country without actual proof. No specific examples? If it's been so apparent, does the NCAA just not care? These type of accusations are absolute BS unless there is actual proof.

Hell, just give me one example. Which player's parent was overpaid for their job? Not a single OSU basketball scholarship player's parent has been employed by the OSU athletic department during Ford's tenure to my knowledge.

Smart drove around a '90s style POS during his time in Stillwater. That was just a distraction to all the money he was rolling in, right?

So it has to be in the athletic department? No outside jobs? I'm glad the jeep ford. Kruger will wear him out for the next 15 years in a nursing home!

Ha, knew you would suggest that. You have nothing, stop lying. So, where was the "outside job" and who was the player's parent in question that someone told you about? Kruger very well may "wear out ford for the next 15 years in a nursing home" or whatever that means (obvious deflection attempt there, btw), but unless you're prepared to provide evidence and specific examples of recruiting infractions having occurred or occurring ("actual" events as I recall you putting it) at OSU under Ford, you're spewing BS. Where the hell do you coach?

Glad you are trolling on an OU board. Do I have hard proof, like a reciept no but I do know it happens.
I'll give you a free one... Stevie Clark got benefits

I recall someone on this board saying Stevie Clark had his hand out, after it was apparent he'd be going to OSU and OU was eliminated, of course. Must have been you. Also recall you (if it was you, if not, my apologies) pointing out to the effect that the Clark family suddenly changed their ways once the younger Clark was close to committing to OU football. Strange.

At least now I know where you're drawing your "OSU gives players' parents high paying jobs, gives players money, and changes grades" delusion from--one unconfirmed instance of a player who didn't even play half a season for OSU having his hand out.

I'm done with you. Unconfirmed to you, confirmed to me. I'll sleep fine tonight, I have no need to make up lies about Travis ford and osu.

I said Stevie and family had their hands out. I reported it then and stand by that. There are others. Troll troll troll.

I hate that. I was really enjoying gaining knowledge of the plethora of recruiting violations occurring at OSU. Be sure to post again when someone tells you of the earth shattering news that a recruit has his hand out.

It's a tough call which is worse -- the offseason, with its paucity of hoops developments, or the preseason, with the arrival of the obnoxious aggies to this board.

Me, I wouldn't miss a one of them if they were all banned from this board, as Sooner fans are quickly dispatched from theirs (except Byron Houston's ... I forget the rest of his handle, but he's a reasonable sort, the very rare aggie I can stomach). They bring nothing to this board; they care only about arguing about every perceived slight against their orange-clad heroes.

Any aggie board in the first week of October (or, really, any week in any month) ranks approximately 1,932,083rd on the list of websites I'd be inclined to visit, but these sad cases -- and truly, fhosu is one of these saddest of the sad -- just can't resist poisoning the air over here.

It's not just OSU, it happens in a lot of places.... and a lot of sports. Sometimes the coaches aren't even aware of it. I refereed HS and AAU ball for a lot of years and knew several D1 coaches and their assistants. It's pretty much known some of the players have their hands out or have street agents.

I know CoachTalk is connected and doesn't make stuff up. Leave it at that.

That's exactly my point--it's pretty well known recruits often have their hand out. To draw the conclusion that players are receiving cash, players' parents are receiving high paying jobs at the influence of coaches, and high school grades are being manipulated to get players eligible at OSU because one single recruit was said to have his hand out is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?

I don't have any insights into the OSU program anymore. I quit officiating 5-6 years ago so I don't stay in contact with recruiting or coaching staffs. I also don't feel very comfortable discussing dirty recruiting on a public forum.

I agree a single recruit doesn't indict a program. For whatever reason, Ford is a heck of a recruiter for a solid but non-glamor program. I commend him and his staff. He also appears a lot better at getting them than he is at retaining them. His team's attrition rate seems unusually high to me but then he pulls a couple of recruiting rabbits out of the hat year after year.

He evidently has a heck of a sales pitch. He's definitely a closer.

2 things:

1. Ford is actually starting to graduate players which is a fun new trend.

2. Clark had his hand out a lot. The problem was the last time his D*** was in it and he got kicked off the team.

Basketball recruiting is a dirty business. It's just the way it is.

I know for fact the weed he got caught with in Florida.. Wasn't his he took the rap for certain star...

Texas Tech got a commitment from SG Jordan Jackson on 10/12

He's a Tech double legacy. His mother is the former WNBA star and Tech all-time leading scorer, Sheryl Swoopes, who led Tech to the NCAA title in '93. His dad, Eric Jackson, played on the Tech football team.

He plays HS ball at a Houston private school (St. Pius). Former UT and NBA player, TJ Ford, is his AAU coach.
