2018 Recruiting

it looks like OU is recruiting mostly power forwards in 2019 if you look at twitter, and the 2019 kids the follow...

I would think Amihere and Haley Jones would have offers since, ou made the list for Amihere when she cut it, and Pam has been to see Jones a few times...

Syb is the player your talking about a guard or Forward?

The player he is talking about is a center.

Nice we could use the inside help... also it was reported by a fan that Rae has visited ou...

It goes all the way thru 2021/2022

Texas and Baylor have two each on the 1st team of 10 players... 2018 has six teams total, Madi Williams made the 2nd team and she’s our only committed player on any of the teams.

2019 has 3 teams, Haley Jones and Breanna Beal both made the 1st team, Brown who they list at 6’6 and Liz Scott made the 2nd team, and sooner targets Osborne and Prechtel made the 3rd team... I think OU needs at lest two of the known targets on the 2019 list if they want to try and start chatching Baylor and Texas...

Katelyn Levings is in the 2020 2nd Team listed at 6’3 from Edmond Memorial.

OU follows her on twitter, I think she’ll be a high impact kid, hopefully she’ll stay home and play for OU, but will probably be able to go anyway...

I think its funny that HoopGurlz has Madison Williams all the way down at #77 nationally for '18 but every single publication I've seen has her within the top 20 or 30 nationally, including this one in which she made pre-season all-american 2nd team. What gives?? Is she really 6'0"? I remember when Maddie was coming in, espn had her at 5'11" even though we know that's def not the case, how can you get that out of a very clearly 6'2" girl?

Mac any word as to when Burrell and Doumbia will announce? I assume very soon. I worry Burrell will announce tonight for Tennessee after her visit this weekend. We could use their athleticism to add to our already good class.

I don’t have any inside information but I’ve read that Rae has visited OU, and we can assume Doumbia has as well, but the person who posted about Rae visit said that normally if a kid commits to OU it’s right after a visit and that’s a very good point, I can’t think of the last time a kid picked OU after she had been on a visit after her OU visit...

I guess that Morris didn't come on November 3 as anticipated, having committed earlier.

I think Burrell was still adding schools after she visited us. I don't know that she is committed to being committed. You would like to have the scoring ability. But, I don't know that we should look at her as a forward as much as a wing.

Doumbia seemed to like OU. She is more of an athlete/prospect type that has ability that needs to be developed. I don't think either is decided, for or against.

We would probably only want one. We only have three scholarships left for this year and next. We have an offer for Gabby Gregory who seems to be like Mandy Simpson, but a gunner. Then, there are Amihere, Brown, and several others in the 6-2 + category that we might attract next year. Do you take more this year or wait?

Vol Nation seems to want only Burrell and a non-existent post. Wondering about Soares. Gave up on Ezi. No mention of Doumbia on their boards. Seem desperate to get Rae.

Apparently, a Baylor fan went to Horn Fans and told them that Charli Collier and Sedonia Prince wanted to go to Baylor, but Baylor had no scholarships available for them.

Lady Vols are looking for a inside player someone to help in the post, that’s why most of there fans are hoping they can get Rae. Even tho she’s listed as a wing and is about 6’1, I think Rae projects as more of a power forward in college at this time... Tennessee has Davis who I’m sure OU recruited as a power forward as well, so not really sure if Rae would go there or not...

Kim can pick and choose who she wants at Baylor, she’s had enough success to do that with her program... Charli could turn into a great NPOY 3 Year All American type of player one day, but I’m not sure she’ll get that much better then she is being at Texas. Great recruiter Aston is, Great player developer Aston is not...

I haven’t seen much of Prince, but from what I’ve seen, not sure she’ll be as good as DeCosta or Smith and probably would have had a hard time seeing minutes at Baylor early on...

I don't know that Kim Mulkey is any better at development than Aston. Sophia and Sims were probably as good as they got when they stepped on campus.. Griner did improve, but simply because she worked to develop a jump shot and free throw shot. She never became a dominant rebounder, despite her size. She just recruits well. But, she seemed to say that she would win three titles with her great class, instead of the one that they won. They have talent. But, they also lose when they shouldn't, primarily if the defense is as aggressive as they are. Did anyone go to Baylor and become a star who wasn't one on their own?

I want to see what Astin does with superlative talent. Texas really hasn't had that great player who became a pro success since Conradt, or am I missing someone? They do have a lot of talent.

It seems that if Geno gets a recruit, they are also a star in the WNBA.

I agree, I feel like the only coach that really succeeds at developing players into stars, moreso than they already were, is Geno. I love that no matter how much success he has he still appears to have some humility to him, much more so than Mulkey. I'm happy any year that Baylor falls short of expectations, call me a bad sport, just can't stand that lady.

+1

Tennessee boards think Burrell is down to Tennessee or Oregon State.

Prospect Nation may have us at #6. But, HoopGurlz has us at #17. Wonder why HoopGurlz downplays us on everything? They dropped Madison out of the top ten when she committed to us. Veitenheimer isn't high on their list. Is it true that they are really only one North Texas scout?

I think Hoopgurlz put's a lot of stock into summer ball, vs some of the other site, I notice Prospect Nation ranks a lot of kids from Texas high on there list... I'm not sure Veitenheimer's team played on the EYBL circuit, Madi did play but she didn't put up big numbers...
