I would definitely take this case on and I would do a big contingency %. KSU will end up paying 1 way or the other

If Tang has brought "public disrepute, embarrassment, ridicule" to KSU, why haven't we heard about it prior? I smell BS...this is going to court. OU better not pull this nonsense. It's unethical. Don't blame the head coach because the AD was a dumb@$$.

Thanks for the reply. As such, I found out exactly what he said. I'm no attorney, but if he takes this to court, I'm near certain he'll prevail. I agree with your take that it will probably end in a settlement...but can't see him walking away with much less than $10 million.

If he settles for less than 50% of the full amount, hes a moron and/or he has terrible attorneys.

Their claim is that his comments after their game earlier this week are what violated his contract. I think they’ll have a hard time prevailing on that and it’ll likely end in a settlement, but that’s why you haven’t heard anything till now — it’s based on something that just happened.

They were talking about this on ESPN last night...basically said the same things we're saying here. This is a bad look all around for KSU. Good luck attracting a top head coach when he knows that if things go south the university will find a way not to pay him. What's really at play here is that ADs need to become a little smarter and less reactive with these buyout clauses / extensions. Tang had an amazing first year...got his bag...and likely rested on his laurels. These things happen to coaches as easily as players. It's tough to measure the human heart (figuratively), but a good start would be to see if someone can prove their worth again and again. The world is filled with one-hit-wonders.

The benefits of waiting till this year seem to be that we are the best likely opening on that list above .. assuming the new AD lays attention to the bball program. Not sure who we could convince to come here however after chewing up a FF coach and retiring another one (after years of mediocrity). Hope we strike gold.

Huh? We didn't retire Lon Kruger -- he coached as long as he wanted and retired to spend more time with his grandkids and watch his son coach. Dude coached till he was 68 and is the best example possible of how you can succeed at OU. Within two years, he took a program that was in shambles to the tourney, and within five years, he had them in the FF -- and he did all that without being to bring in an entirely new roster in the portal.

And OU didn't chew up Moser. He vomited all over himself.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say but I’m sure it’s incorrect. Moser chewed himself up by failing at his job. There are always plenty of great coaches that would take the OU job.
