2025-26 Season

One was a travesty that Virginia got in over us and the other. Our lack of wins in conference did us in.
Fact is we weren't ready in this NIL era to get the players we needed to really compete at a high level. Early looks this year is showing we are at least going in the right direction at least. We'll find out more this weekend hopefully.

Gonzaga is currently a -11.5 favorite. It was -10.5 earlier today when I looked. I think we keep it closer than that…with a chance to win.

That seems like a wild line. We are down 4 players (Jones, Rogers, Holst, and Blair) and our weakness (depth at the 5) is their strength. However, I would bet OU in this scenario for sure.

Three of those players played no role in our three outings so far, so it's not as though we'll miss them in any legitimate sense. I do wish Rogers was available, though.

Wague is going to have to play great and stay out of foul trouble. They have a great frontcourt. Ike is really good and they have depth there. Mo can’t get early fouls and force us to play small for long stretches.

It's my fault for picking the scab of our "not so great" scheduling. I take full responsibility for devolving the thread. But my point stands. We can all move on now....beat Gonzaga!

I don't know why anyone would feel compelled to apologize for bashing this home slate. I go back to the early 80s, and it's the worst I've seen for our hoopsters. All it does is slash our margin for error. Luckily, the special interests have cannibalized the at-large bids so that we can sneak into the Tournament by going 6-12 in the league.

Agree. I am hoping our experience at guard can keep this close and we at least cover. Anxious to see how it turns out.

Well, we did lose to a non-scholarship team in the early 80s. Or they were at least very limited. Ohio Northern, I think.

On the other hand, we just beat (albeit in exhibitions) two other ranked opponents. I'm not counting on a win, but I'm (perhaps naively) thinking it'll be a competitive game.
