2026 Bracketology

again they average 14k a game in mens basketball in an arena with suites club and loge seating .. (tons more revenue then OU generates)

their coach makes more money then OU's coach ..

they make more tv money then OU does (the Big 10 makes the most)
We sell our tickets too, actual butts in seats is the issue

Bc the mayor has done more outside of 1 year of pm's

2.5-3 mil for their bball roster allegedly which would be less than us, if true

OU has never averaged 14k fans .. and doesn't have suites or club or loge boxes ..

Nebraska is a comparable job. We have just been blessed with 3 hall of fame coaches in the last 45 years.

In what world? Let's see -- who has the upper hand in: FFs, Sweet 16s, tourney appearances, tourney wins, conference titles, All Americans, national and conference POYs, producing NBA players, etc.

Up until about 10 years ago, OU was pretty widely considered to be among the top 20 or 25 programs in history. We have slipped some, no doubt. But even in a down decade, we have been better than Nebraska, which might not even be a top 60 program. This isn't even close. They have one advantage, and that is the number of fans. That one factor doesn't come close to overcoming the fact that they have the same total number of NCAA tournament wins that I do.

Agreed. OU just seems to be stuck in basketball purgatory. We've been a moderately good team since Buddy left, but really no better than a bubble team. I'm not sure that we can, but I believe we should try and model a team like Purdue.....they recruit pretty well, but they don't have a ton of NIL money either. Painter is very good coach as he develops guys in his system quite well. But in this new era, I don't know that we can ever reach that level of consistency and being good again for a considerable stretch. I do think we are incrementally addressing the roster issues and getting somewhat better, but it seems this roster is always going to have a glaring hole or two.....based on recent history. I will try to remain patient (not lose my mind) and see how this team gels, but all bets are off at this point.

Looks like Bracket Matrix updated today, surprised to see OU on 13/33 brackets based on my limited viewing and the board’s malaise.

Ok State in the field at 11, ASU at 10, Nebraska at 4, Gonzaga at 2.

Dropped five spots in the NET. A couple similar drops will likely happen after our next two “games” leading into conference, which would put us in the 60s.

I would think the board's malaise stems from what we've seen out of the program for nearly a decade once conference play begins.

I don’t disagree OU has struggled in conference since 2015-2016 but TBH, board’s mood seems particularly bad this season I’m guessing with how inconsistent OU has been in the non-conference, the awful awful easy games, and the relative optimism over the roster moves.

I’m looking forward to getting the daily updates about how OU’s SOS is improving once they start the SEC schedule lol…

I know you’re kidding, but I do see people make the latter point seriously, as if the coach or team should get credit for a portion of the schedule they have no control over. Something tells me Moser would prefer to still be playing Bradley and Missouri State in conference.
