2026 recruiting

I get only taking a commit from one of those two players...but only wanting one of them to visit?? Seems a little odd to me. I still don't see a legacy OSU player coming to OU...but I guess you never know. I mean, we have lost legacy players to other schools...so it can and does happen.

Maybe it’s dislike for Owasso and dad but I just can’t get behind the 5star all world player.

I agree, seems stupid not to get all the quality players you can in for visits. It's not as if we are likely to end up with too many quality players beating down our door. I could not care less where his dad played.

he's not going to pick ou over osu.
why waste 10c on a visit?
Then why bother recruiting any elite players? We don't have the history, fan base, or cash to beat out blue bloods or programs with cash to burn, so should we just stop trying to recruit the best players?

And not every kid goes to the same school their dad went to. Last I checked, Gilbert Arenas went to Arizona, not USC. If you know for certain that a specific player has no real interest and is just trying to get a fee visit, that's one thing. But if there is any chance the player is interested, it's silly to turn them down because mom or dad went to a rival school decades ago.

did u read the post above?
they're bringing in a player at the same position who may be as good or better.....and doesn't have ties to osu.
they obviously have a good reason to cut montonati's visit. most likely because the chances he picks ou are slim to none.
this isn't about whether to recruit elite players or not.

Who cares if they are brining in another player? Is there a guarantee said player will sign with OU? And as far as him being better, that’s an option from a high school guy covering OU. The national rankings say otherwise.

montonati will sign with osu. ou will sign someone else.
but feel free to keep crying about it.

i don't give a rip about high school players anymore....unless they're top 10.
most won't stick around more than a year anyway.

I could not care less about any individual player. Just think it’s an idiotic philosophy to limit yourself to one player at a particular position, when that kid may or may not choose OU.

My kids go to Jenks and we have played Owasso over the years. His dad is a SOTB on the bench. When they played at Jenks a couple of seasons ago, when his son was a freshmen, I told my wife...this guy is gonna get T'd up. Sure enough, within 5-10 mins, the ref gave him a technical for non-stop bitching and moaning. He comes across as a arrogant a-hole on the sidelines.

He comes across that way in regular conversation as well. Lol

Most refs are scared of him. He’s insufferable to watch or be near.
