2026 Transfer portal

Have not seen confirmation yet but hearing rumors Speiser committed to Oklahoma. That would be two 5 star recruits this week. If true, need a center and that’s a solid portal run. Would love two centers but wouldn’t everyone.

Both commits look really good on paper. Fingers crossed, they stay healthy and are as good as they sound. Now, if we can pick up a decent center, we are in business.

Wish we had R Beers for one more year. Maybe they will pass the 5 years of eligibility by next season and she can rejoin the team. BTW, whatever happened to that issue. Supposedly, they were going to consider going to 5 years eligibility and eliminate the redshirt and waiver situations/controversy.

NCAA proposing major changes to eligibility rules, including age limits
"Members of the NCAA Division I Cabinet are set to review the proposal at their meeting next week. While a timeline for approval remains unclear — it is likely weeks or months away — the legislation is considered an urgent matter with potential for implementation as soon as this coming academic year (fall 2026)."
The article was written last week, so I guess they're meeting this week.
I found another article that states: "If adopted by the Cabinet in mid-April, the proposals would be effective for prospects entering college during the 2026-27 academic year." However, it doesn't specifically mention the 5-year rule.
OU does need a big still. That is the biggest need (pun intended). If they can get a quality, athletic scoring big, then they have a chance to improve their ceiling greatly.

Assuming we will only add 1 more from the portal. That would be 13 on the roster if we do not have some late portal entries because they might think their playing time will shrink because of the additions.

I'm so stoked that we got spieser! She is pretty much like Verhulst, from what I have seen. Really bummed that we missed out on woolfolk but maybe it's because we have another center that we are adding? We need to get a couple more girls with height whether that be the 6'6 girl and Crooks or if it's both 6'6 girls and Addy Brown, idk.
McGill going to OSU makes no sense, although I'm glad she didn't end up at a place like TCU. Is she their first transfer portal addition that will be impactful? As of right now the only ones I know they have on there roster are her and Heard, which are both point guards..
