2026 Transfer portal

i don't care who what happened last year at this point, let's please move on. Chavez will get better with experience, that's why she was rated as highly as she was - they base a lot of it on their projected play in DI and beyond. I'm hoping to see improvement from everyone on the roster, except perhaps Sahara - i love her for her loyalty but i believe she is who she is and not much change will happen with her court decisions and shooting ability, but stranger things have happened. I truly hope we can still land S'Myah Smith or Addy Brown, as I'm not sure who else we are still pursuing. We could use a veteran on this roster, pref one with height. Otherwise expectations for next year will be lower, IMO.
 
Forgot about Addy Brown, who is she looking at beside us (if we are still in it)? She visited right? Don't know anything about Smith. is she an inside player or guard?

That is total nonsense, she was the ultimate team player. The situation from last year's Sweet Sixteen team was the team was never in sync. Chavez (who is a great player but had been the only real gun on her HS team) never was in sync with JB's offense which took away the cohesion. If I have a concern about the future, it is something that started last year. OU didn't have a full roster because we lacked the money to put it together. We are watching the same situation for next year. The men's team is exactly the same. If you players to the portal you are in trouble if you can't replace them. The price is going up every year and OU is falling behind.

Verhulst not a team player is a joke. She was too unselfish this year. You are always spot on.

As far as I know, Addy did not visit us. I believe UCLA is interested in her.
 
I also read somewhere that Brown was still in play for OU (a trusted YouTube portal poster) which means that she had to visited, right? Other schools that she visited were apparently UCLA and Vanderbilt though...

Smith is a 6'2 forward that started at LSU and transferred to Virginia last year and is in the portal again.. both these players are 6'2 and listed as forwards so both of them could help specially since they are veterans.

It sounds like she did visit us. If so, that's great. She would be a nice addition to the team!
 
Has anyone seen Addy Brown play? What do you think? Is she good enough to start for us next year or would she just be a depth piece?
 
Addy Brown was on campus April 8th. We haven't heard a word since. That doesn't seem too positive.

Her other visits were very spread out. Not sure she’s even completed them yet. Sounds like she’s spending more than a day on campuses.

I believe she already visited all of her schools she wanted to visit. It was UCLA, Vandy, Oklahoma and I can’t remember the other school she had listed. I will say she was not at UCLA very long at all.

UCLA will be a complete rebuild next year. I bet she ends up at Vandy. Hope I’m wrong!
 
Vandy will already be loaded next year, but if I had to guess I'd say she ends up there also. UCLA will not be very good next season.


Brown is similar to Verhulst, but 1 inch taller and thicker, so she could play forward some, but also has handles like a guard and an outside shot. Def can start on our squad if healthy.

that's the other school! they also wanted Crooks, but it didn't work out. ND has a lot of young talented height coming in next season, so it'll be interesting to see who she picks. i'll be shocked if we land her.

Once we got Speiser...our focus moved to getting a few Forwards.
