#4 OU vs #5 Notre Dame 5pm 3/21

Yeah this one is ugly

Has Maddie seemed off the last 2 games, like she isn't as engaged...maybe not feeling well.

Definitely need more and bigger athletes. Still love this team, just not fun tonight.

Plus overranked, though not the only team.

Some of the tournament losses have been about match-ups and some just much better teams, no matter the seed.

Am already looking forward to who we will have next season and how much who we already have, improves.

The Big 12 must be overrated. I am shocked. I know ND has some top players. I saw pics of the girl from Kansas at the first game. Maybe she will help at center

That box score looks really ugly.

28 turnovers.:o

ND gave us a drubbing.....I didn't get to watch or listen to the game but it looks like they left their eight girl rotation in the whole game.

I think I would post that boxscore somewhere in the weight room or on the bulletin board.

ND usually has great athletes. And great athletes usually dominate.

We need better athletes to match the best teams. yada yada yada.

We weren't over ranked. ND might have been under ranked. I know they struggled somewhat earlier in the year. They are probably playing their best now. We have struggled somewhat since the game at Texas. That doesn't mean we were over-ranked. Don't short-change what these girls accomplished based on one game.

We are an undersized team with not a lot of quickness. We struggled just about every time we played a team with a big center. If we couldn't get a big center out from under the basket our drivers struggled and the drive and dish to Taylor and other outside shooters wouldn't be available.

Hopefully, we can pick up some good players from the portal.

Notre Dame played great and we played awfully. Not much more to be said. As has been pointed out we need bigger stronger better athletes. So Jennie just has to get out recruiting and start getting top 50 recruits in multiple recruiting classes. Hopefully this year provides a platform to recruit for the 23 class.

Looking back at the game. Mabry couldn't miss in the first half. She did have some shots wide open. Then she was well covered falling to her right and banks in a 3 pointer. It was just her day. Then add Dodson was 8-11. Citron was 11-11 from the FT line. All 3 shot at a high percentage. Good building block. Llanusa, Robertson, and Williams coming back should help alot. I just hope OU gets Laci Steele, then adds T Parker, then adds K Lofton. We need them to stay home. For the families and making Oklahoma a power again.

Did ND have a short handed roster? Why would the starters have so many minutes in a game that was a rout early on?
Besides ND shooting lights out early on, the turnover battle was really ugly. Plus their bigs just shut down any inside game OU tried. Either they batted down the shots, forced bad angles or OU couldn't hit anything inside the arc.
Just one of those nights to forget and look towards next season.
Well done overall ladies for this past season.

A very productive season for the players and coaches and enjoyable for us fans. A good start to attract better players and get fans to return to watching in person. We need defensive height in the middle, and an off-season of working on passing and reducing turnovers.
This time last year , if you would have predicted this record, the effort, the passion of this team-coaches and players-we would have thought you were crazy. Great job by all involved, and promise for the future

The coaches and team are going to build on this. We get to two 6-3 players, both supposedly with quality skills. This team is going nowhere but up with Jenny at the helm.

I think we can all give the OU Ladies a big shout out for a great season, I don't think any of us thought we would have this type of season. I'm really proud of the way they played and gave it their all. Boomer Sooner Ladies and thank you for a great season.

Unless Jeannie runs kids off ou does not have a scholarship left. Does anyone think Nydia really had a choice to stay?

Agreed. Notre Dame has a roster full of high school All-Americans/ESPN Hoopgurlz top 100 ranked players. I believe Madi is our only high school AA, and Ana, Gregory, Liz Scott and Washington were our only other players ranked in the top 100 coming out of high school. I don't believe prospect nation is an accurate raking database, so I don't count Tatum Veitenheimer, as we all know how she turned out :(
Unfortunately, we were just outclassed on account of the difference in talent across the board, they just had so many options and we only had two, if even that. That being said, we still had a successful season, being ranked in the top 25 pretty much the entire time and I believe this will aid in coach JB's recruiting efforts moving forward. Thankfully I don't think she's a lazy recruiter like SC was, and actually does pursue legit talent and not projects or lesser talented players, on account of their 'look' which is exactly what SC did for years. Nowhere to go but up, IMO!

I do think we are going in the right direction and agree that if everyone returns and the new kids turn out as contributors, we could be improved.

This being said, the ND game was hard to understand. The first quarter, we turned the ball over at a pace that would put us just under 40 turnovers for the game if it had continued. And, defensively, I couldn't discern what we were attempting to do. It didn't look like man to man or zone. All but one or two shots in the first quarter by ND was shot by someone that didn't have a defensive player assigned to them. Just completely open and un-guarded. I couldn't even tell what we were trying to do defensively.

I don't understand how you can begin a home game in the final 32 of the NCAA tournament and be so completely unprepared to play mentally and physically. Surprisingly, we looked totally confused more than inept or under talented. I mean at some point, just start assigning players numbers and say guard them and no one else. At least every player on the opposite team won't be open.

Enough of that, the year in total was a success. I like the direction. Jennie has a lot of work ahead of her with this squad going into next year. I agree that we have a chance to have a better team. But, it won't just happen.

I think the tough part will be being realistic about some of their deficiencies and whether some of the girls she relied upon this year are even capable of playing defense and handling the ball more competently. We will see.

Prior to the IUPUI game, I was worried because, with perhaps the exception of Kennady, we didn't have any players with NCAA tournament experience. We got through that game but I wonder if that lack of experience didn't catch up to us. The KSU game in Manhattan was similar in that we started off badly and never really got anything to work all day. We did have physical limitations the demanded that we be mentally on top of our game every game.

Well, I have responded to this three times on my phone only to not be allowed to post. Thus after a few hours of doing stressful contract work, I am back and on my computer so will hopefully have better luck. Any person who took my saying we were overranked was my way of short-changing or being negative in any way to the team, got it wrong and I regret that you or anyone took it that way. And I did not base it on one game...not based on just the last game. Thinking they were not as good as teams ranked beneath them does not mean I did not believe they did a great job. Obviously they did because they received a four seed, the seniors won their first game ever in the Big 12 Tournament, had a 25-9 season while falling apart at the wrong time. A new coach, a new system and they came together and played some great basketball AND really seemed to enjoy it. I have done nothing but praise the team, coach and her staff and really enjoyed the season. Can hardly wait to get news on what the team focuses on post season, plus on who we may be getting.

Also, I thought several teams were overranked and others underranked before the season started. I believe the tournament to date has proven this. Of course, sometimes people play way over their heads and others play under, or it is just that day or whatever. PLUS, is there such a thing as 100 percent correct rankings and who makes that assessment?

However, whatever the case, as a rule, I do not NOW publicly criticize teams nor coaches nor refs nor other posters. I might disagree with a post but I do not make it personal. It's a nonproductive activity for me personally and just adds more to the hate and anger in the world and don't we have more than enough of that energy. I wish I could go back and erase so many of my social media posts....the negative ones usually involved politics. Did they change any minds? I sincerely doubt it. I still have to watch myself on Facebook and Twitter.

So onto what happens next with the team and staff :) Oh, and hope, in Texas, you got to watch all the basketball you wanted...no wrap-arounds, etc.
