#5 OU at #6 Kentucky 3pm 1/11

Is a 4 game losing streak the longest of the JB era? It’s coming. LSU and Texas are going to wipe the floor with us.
 
Chavez eventually will be our Morgan… but we need another guard /wing..
 
I do hope Chavez stays but I can see her jumping to a top program for $$

lol yup just said the same thing. Other top schools…. Could pay her more than she’d make in the wnba ..
 
I don't think Chavez is a college point guard. I think she is a shooting guard she does very little creating for her teammates and instead just looks to shoot the ball which is fine but we are not doing as well this season with creating a cyst for our teammates. We are just throwing the ball away or just chucking it as soon as we cross mid Court which is not going to cut it. We are going to lose four games in a row and honestly I do believe Vanderbilt will beat us as well. Not getting any transfer players for bench support is killing us right now in these games when you have players like van and Williams who just do not learn from one game to the next and then have a non-productive bench full of inexperience. Definitely not going to be watching the next two games
 
Not gonna beat anyone with 23 points in a half - especially a well-coached, Top 6 team on the road.
Led 24-11, but then got selfish on a couple of possessions and never found any continuity after that.
 
It also matters how much money JB has. If the school wants to take women’s ball seriously then we need the money to pay for portal and freshman players that can make an impact. JB has proven she can sign elite talent. But I’m not sure she can sign enough in quantity to compete with LSU and Texas. We need 2/3 top 25 players in a class to truly compete
 
OU is not good enough this year. May never be, unfortunately. Forget the SEC this year, maybe another Sweet 16, probably not. They just aren't talented enough overall to compete. They have Beers and Chavez. That is it.

Would not surprise me if Chavez is already having her agent put feelers out to other teams.
 
Chavez isn’t a point guard. 7-23, 1-8 3’s is horrible. I don’t care if she’s a freshman. She’s a starter and should be treated that way. No grace when you shoot more than anyone on the team. Take her off the ball and set her up for a good shot. Vann shot one shot? You all say there’s no depth? How the heck can you tell when they’re on the bench. My granddaughter could have played better than the starters today. It’s their fault only, and not to mention believing they have to score in one second. As I said weeks ago, spent millions on one player hoping to hang your hat on her, instead of getting a few veteran players. That was embarrassing to watch.
 
I agree. Vann & Williams have shown these last couple games or so that they just are not reliable and consistent options. We've got two consistently elite players and that's not good enough. We will be towards the bottom half in the SEC which will be considered a disappointing season. I think this season shows JB's inadequacies coaching. She finally got the elite player and has for all Americans but she can't get them to play together and be a good team, teams with arguably less talent that are better coached or going to beat us. I say sweet 16 caliber team at maximum, which some fans will consider just fine I suppose.

Again, I don't understand why she didn't go out and grab two to three mid major players that were solid and could provide support due to experience. What was she thinking? That these freshmen would play like seniors from the jump? That tells me she wasn't really thinking things through and was just happy landing Chavez

There’s plenty of volume shooters on college teams. I don’t like her shooting percentage but I think it’ll get better. Everyone says we paid millions. I’ve yet to see the proof.

We start 4 McDonalds All Americans. How many other teams can say this. I think this is probably the only OU team to have 4 McDonalds AA at the same time. But this team is terribly frustrating to watch. I was expecting great things this season.
