Believe snagging one of these 5th year transfers is high on Kruger's list (and mine) to help with depth next year. Even though we are hopefully going to begin a NCAA tournament run, no shame in looking toward next year.

Temple's Anthony Lee announced his decision to transfer today...6'9" forward who averaged 14 & 9. Think Lon needs to give him a call.

That would be the ideal "add" to next year's team, but they aren't easy to come by. It'll almost be dumb luck if we end up with one worth anything.

If we could add somebody like the Black kid that KU picked up, we could really make some noise next year.

We've had pretty fantastic success with our D1 transfers recently. Obviously Osby and Spangler were phenomenal. The M'baye deal bit us because he idiotically bolted after one year, but he was definitely a really good player. So i'm all for any transfers we can get.

That's a stretch...he graduated and wanted to make some money, what's wrong with that? Wasn't like he was going to be a first round pick if he came back.

Yep, hard to fault the kid, I just wish he and LK were on the same page. LK seemed genuinely surprised by him leaving early.

So you don't think improving his own game and playing with a dramatically improved group of guards would have boosted his own stock? I wish him the best, but he made a poor choice.

I think LK was genuinely surprised because it was not a good choice for him.

Poor choice is often in the of eye of the beholder. For him it was a good choice. He is from overseas and knew he could make a nice payday playing there. Nothing wrong with that.

He was either 22 or 23, can't remember. At that point, you are who you are in the eyes of scouts...he was not going to move up any draft boards. Sure, maybe someone takes a flier in the second round, but that doesn't mean anything...it's often best for someone not to have your draft rights so you can shop. Playing with better guards would not have helped...scouts aren't stupid, they know what's going on, he is evaluated on his skills.

Also, what's better...coming back and training on a schedule with limited coach involvement or heading to the free market and being able to train with coaches year-round? At age 23, that question is easy IMO (especially for a foreign born player). In the end, he fulfilled his academic/playing requirement to OU which as fans/boosters is all we can ask.

The coaching he is getting here is a lot better than what he is getting in Japan. I would bet that the facilities and nutrition and strength and conditioning programs are quite a bit better here too.

He was a good student and didn't get in troulbe off the court. It's my opinion that no player owes the school any more than that, and should be free to pursue a professional career whenever they wish. That doesn't mean he made a good decision, though.

Unlv's leading scorer is leaving. I think a guard. It's doubtful Lon pursues him but he'd be a 5th guy. He may go play oversea's if I remember correctly.

That's my point...what coaching? He can only have like 4 hours a week in the summer with assigned staff. The NCAA's limits on coaching access in the summer is a joke.

Is there mutual interest with Anthony Lee?

I think it would be a huge addition to OU's team. It would effectively allow OU to both have a player and save the scholarship for next season. Plus he is a post player that appears to have the ability to contribute at a Big XII level. It wouldn't seem to get much better than this for OU.

Do you think M'Baye could tell by going up against Spangler every day in practice that might not be starting this year?
