nice finish of the half only down 5
We would definitely be a final four team if we had Kneepkins. The recruit that got away unfortunately.I reaaaaaally wish Kneepkins was a sooner
You don’t average 35 points your entire high school career without being able to shoot. She just hasn’t adjusted as quickly to the college game like I thought she wouldChavez seems to be pretty overrated. She don’t particularly quick and can’t shoot

Well, as said,I thought she was better last year than she was but she shot the team Ave and shot a ton more free shots than anyone else. I wish she would get it up to 75 percent.......but definitely has to improve over the first two games...the entire team does. And they need to improve from last year but I believe they will. Early times, a lot of new players and a couple of tough games.......I mean Belmont wasn't UCLA but they were tough.Actually better than I expected. UCLA is always best early in the season and we are usually best around Feb 1. Lack of depth is definitly a problem. I know that many agonize with the key players playing under 30 minutes but that is why we pull so many games out in the last quarter. Our players in the past have usually had fresher legs in the 4th quarter. I am incouraged that we played with them for 3 quarters. But the legs weren't there the 4th quarter and our offense suffered, defense too.
I am not concerned about Beers free shooting. She is not a great free throw shooter but better than she has been these first two games. Not concerned with Chaves shooting either. Right now she is shooting not to miss. Once she gets more comfortable with the college level game those open shots will fall 40-50 percent. Thought Stewart looked pretty good in her brief time. Lofton seems to be almost invisable when she is in the game. I think she will eventually be a solid backup.
The most encouraging thing to me was the number of good open shots that didn't fall. If we get shose shots to fall in February we will be a force to reckon with.
