#6 OU vs Belmont 4:30pm 11/3

It is possible that we came into the game expecting a cupcake but Belmont is anything but a cupcake. Strong opening but our lead began to disolve when we made the first substitutions. Frosh are frosh even Chavez at times. Stewart showed improvement during the game but Lofton looked a little lost. Offensive flow is not there yet and I think that affected the shooting a bit but some of it was jitters. I think we will have a decent shooting team this year. Returning players plus Chavez got it together in the fourth quarter. Williams really stepped up in the final quarter.

UCLA is a talented team. They always have a lot of talent but their conference tournament win last year was the first I remember them ever willing anything big under this coach.

We went 15-30 from the Free Throw line and 3-23 from 3. If we just do marginally better in those areas this game isn't even close.

I do look forward to the Frosh making some big strides this year and should look a lot better by Jan. Last year it was hard to keep everyone happy with minutes being played...this year that won't be the case. Zya is much needed on the floor and it hurt that she fouled out with only 16 min. It would be nice to have her closer to 25 min/game...especially on the defensive end.

Zya's last two fouls were just dumb and looked intentional. They were so obvious it looked like she wanted out of the game. Then, just laughed about it all on the bench. Hope she gets a little more focused, she could really hurt the team in a close game against a good team. Otherwise, I thought she played pretty well.

basically agree with soonerguy. I think i see one flaw. No depth at point. Vann is improved in s lot of areas but can’t dribble at all. No handles. Chavez is the only person on the team that can dribble. Lost our other point guards i guess to grad or portal

All the freshman look promising not just chavez
Have you watched Vann before? The ball handling is elite. First game with a new team and different roles. It’s going to take time to gel. I watched her specifically all through high school. I can’t name better ball handlers than the three we have including Lofton. Might be a tough start, but it will be good.

I didn’t like the laughing either. Maybe it was just frustration.
