Per the schedule on soonersports.com the exhibition is not on TV...radio will have a broadcast on 1520 AM. So come out to the LNC if you can...free admission to the exhibition.

First chance to see this year's team...really looking forward to seeing Chavez and all the new players...also very interested (at least in the first half) to see how Jennie does her player rotations.

Please note radio is on 1520 AM.

The Varsity App also shows the game will be streamed on the app starting with pregame at 5:30.

Jennie spread the minutes around evenly for our core 9 players as they each played around 20 minutes. Sahara lead us in scoring with 18, Zya had 16 points, Aaliyah with 15 and Raegan 12. All of the core 9 players scored at least 8 points. Aaliyah had an off shooting night from 3 and was only 1-7 but she is also good at driving to the bucket and was 6-8 from 2.

Zya made 8 steals and went 2-2 from 3…she was really good tonight. Caya Smith scored 8 and just looked like she has really improved in the off season. Verhulst was very unselfish tonight and was happy to facilitate others scoring…she had 6 assists. Brooklyn scored 10 and Keziah scored 8…Keziah ran the point in the 4th quarter. We had a +19 turnover margin as we forced 30 turnovers and only made 11…Aaliyah and Zya both had 0 turnovers…encouraging stat.

Overall hard to draw too many conclusions from this game…an exhibition against an overmatched D2 school.

We are not as deep as previous years but I think these freshman are going to make an impact before conference starts in January. We may struggle with UCLA and NC State while they are figuring things out but those games will help them in the long run. We are going to score but I think the bright spot for me was Zya and Brooklyn on defense. They are going to harass and drive teams crazy. Our passing already looks much improved with Chavez at point. I’m excited.

We are not as deep, but our starting 5 is way better than what we had last year. Chavez is much better than Reyna & Tot at the point. Zya is more athletic & a better defender than her sister. Keziah, Brooklyn & Caya are better defenders than we had off the bench...what we needed vs. the athletic guards in the SEC. They will need to grow up quick & Beatrice needs to look like she did tonight.

Jennie seems to be very excited about these young players she gots.

In her post game interview on the radio, she is very excited about her bench as well. Yes they are young but Im here to see them grow as the season goes on.

I think bench rotation will consist 4 players consistently, possibly 5 when Emma gets the hang of the style of play Jennie runs.

Brooklyn
Keziah
Beatrice
Caya

Then Emma eventually

You are pretty spot on. The freshman’s will grow as the season goes on. I expect them to make mistakes but not too many with our veterans leadership and coaches we have.
Beatrice has always been good when we needed her to be.
I think Brooklyn, Keziah and Caya will learn quicker then we think just because they are definitely first 4 off the bench along with Beatrice. Beatrice will be fine, my only thing with her is I wish she just was more aggressive at scoring the ball thats all I really can complain about her honestly.

Regarding our two international players...neither played in the first half. In the second half Tolan was the first sub and played 13 of the 20 minutes and looked like she could give us some minutes in a competitive game...between coming in August and the wrist injury she had when she arrived I am sure she is still adjusting. Cissoko only played the last 90 seconds or so...didn't see enough of her to draw a definitive conclusion but it appears she is project.

sounds like we are going to have a much better team defensively this season. I'm still worried about depth, especially when Beers is in foul trouble agains teams that have Bigs, such as UCLA, but maybe Stewart & Culliton will surprise me. I also agree Culliton needs to look to score more, and hope she's worked on her back to the basket post moves since last season. Super excited about all of the freshmen. Is the french girl just not good? Is she injured still? A bit surprised she played so few minutes against a DII opponent...
