#7 OU vs #6 LSU 1:30p. 3/6

everything you say is exactly correct. If defense and cutting down on turnovers is a priority, it is not showing.
I disagree, lsu’s players were way more athletic than ours. Their guards just blew right by our guards..we have some good players but no way are they the athletes the top programs have.

Actually, we have 3 of those athletes. Highly athletic and fast. With suffocating defense. They don’t use them together. They prefer to try to outshoot teams even when they’re shooting 20%. How about switching it up and play the defense together and get fast points off turnovers. Higher percentage shots at the rim. Never understood lazy defense. It’s 80% effort. For a couple of minutes a quarter you throw in the defense group… which would be Williams, Vann, Smith, Lofton & Stewart. I Have No idea why that hasn’t been done. Press them or half court press and watch the change. Defense also motivates the offense. Motivates the entire team. If a team Doesn’t love defense, they won’t go far. This is all positive thinking, not complaining.

I think we do have some great athletes but we don't have the combination of talented, athletic length and shooters at the depth that we need them to be in order to compete with the top tier teams. Probably an nil issue. We've made improvements under JB for sure but we are just not quite there yet. I hope we get closer next season not sure who our center will be though, or if we are going to go back down to small ball and just struggle against teams with tall bigs .. long ways away still

No small ball. Have to find a big. Texas has plenty just sitting.

Watching the freshman on Texas and South Carolina… sometimes I feel like Chavez was a bit overrated. We need her to work hard in the off season.

Chavez was one of the best FR in the country. Maybe not THE BEST, but had to be top 10. Just don't want to be in a position where she has to score like 30 points to
keep us in games. Have to surround her with some top talent. If we can't get a top center, lots of dark clouds ahead no matter whom else we put on the court.

Chavez doesn’t have to score 30 to keep them in games. Safe to say she has shot us out of some games. The problem has been not getting Raegan involved as first priority.

Coaching. Their coaches are significantly ahead of Jennie. Like, night and day. Jennie is a good coach, but USCe and UT, along with LSU and UCONN, and a few others, have elite coaches. OU just doesn't have that. Will be interesting to see if JB can get a couple top transfers to come in, because if we don't get a proven big, OU will be in very big trouble next year.

I see your point. Smith is athletic but can’t handle the ball well. Def is her specialty. Williams .. agree.. I like Vann but I remember one play.. late.. already down by 30 and she tried stopping their guard between 3 pt line and half court and got blown by with one step.

With that lineup ya don’t have a lot of offense, we need kids that can do both. Just my 2 cents

Yes, but we do not have them right now. This is only for a couple of minutes, not replacing starters. Maybe same group and replace Smith with Chavez. It would be small ball, but There is offense there on turnovers. We tend to rotate one defense player for another to try to contain their best player. That’s tiring for one guard. Want to see they lineup together.
Smith has to get better at handling the ball. She has trouble even chasing it down to grab it. Greats at stealing it, but then it’s all over the place.
