#9 OU @ ISU 5pm CST on ESPN2

It wasn't pretty in the 2nd half, but it didn't have to be as long as you get the W. First sweep of ISU since '95....wow. Don't stub your toe in Manhattan and things are really looking good.

OU: 16-22
ISU: 4-6

There's your ballgame right there at the free throw line. Glad to get a road win in a place we haven't in 10 years.
Gonna have to be way better offenseively on Tuesday night to win at Bramlage. Let's go end that streak too!

I was explaining to my mom that I'm guessing "most" of the fouls on isu were shooting fouls...hence we shot that many more. We got called for a lot of hand checks/blocking out.

I know Reaves was shooting early in the game.

fouls were 14/17

yup...it'd be nice to go 4-0, now 1-0. See if we can pick up the bu or ut game. Going to be a intense 10 days

How is ku only 1.5 games "back"....they are 11-5 vs 9-0 bu.

We are 2.0 games back at 9-4...

this is off of espn site.

This team isn't perfect but they are finding ways to win. Any win is a good win, imo.

That’s how games back is calculated. They are six games over .500 and Baylor is nine games over, so a three game difference. Divided by two, that’s a game and a half. Don’t worry, winning percentage is what determines the standings when teams end up playing an unequal number of games.

no doubt...gave up a 14 pt lead...but yeah, great half defensively of basketball...LOL

In the second half, we gave up just six more points (31) than we did in the first half (25). By contrast, we scored 16 fewer points (25) in the second half than we did in the first half (41).

Defense wasn't the primary issue in the second half -- offense was.

While I mostly agree, I’d say the defense was pretty bad the first 10 minutes. Everything was pretty bad the first 10 minutes of the second half. The defense was much better the last 10 minutes and we found enough offense to put them away.

We came out flat footed and lackadaisical the first 10 minutes of the second half. That’s disappointing. We played with purpose in the first half. Excellent defense and converted that to good offense. The second half we played like crap. We did find a way to turn it around and win the game. That’s important. However, it should’ve never come to that because of our careless, lackadaisical play.

The defense was really good for 25 minutes and quite bad for 15 minutes. We can be great at times when we really play hard. When we let up, it gets ugly.

At the half we had 41 points and at the 10:05 mark of the 2nd half we had 46 thus we scored 5 points in a 10 minute time frame. The offense was indeed bad and perhaps a level worse. Seemed like State really cracked down on the defensive side and were giving our players no room to breathe. Thankfully, this occurred while playing a rather poor team or the outcome would have been in jeopardy.

I have a feeling KSU will be a tougher game start to finish. I hope the guys bring the intensity and focus on Tuesday.

Agree. Really surprised they won at TCU

Great win Sooners! Take care of business (2-1) and we have a good shot at 2 seed.

We had 4 guards who played 30 minutes or more and we outrebounded them 41-36.

I am curious if the time slot of 7-9 a.m tomorrow on ESPNU will be used for the replay of the whole OU-ISU game. Probably not, though. They'll likely use it to show Duke's win over Virginia for the 20th time this weekend.

Speaking of ESPN, it reminded me of how OU's Big Monday games in the late 90's always seemed to follow those Georgetown-Syracuse marathons that almost always lasted at least 2 1/2 hours. I can't really remember if they ever got to the start of an OU game on Big Monday, live.

At least ESPN has a host of channels which they can divert the game to.

Ah... I know the split but didn’t know the over .500 deal
Thanks

I'll take 31 points in every half we have left.

Of our 38 halves this season, we've surrendered 31 or more points 23 times.
