A look into the Big 12's finances

Exactly.

We can pay Buzz a VERY fair price. Money shouldn't be an issue.

Awesome. Who says we can't get Phil now? What about Doc Rivers? Lets get them both!

It's wrong to look at the whole budget IMO. The bball program supports itself, ideally.

If you follow all the links to the Forbes article, the overall profit for the athletic department at OU is just over 10 million. 4th overall in profit margin in the Big XII. Maybe that's splitting hairs because we dont have 30 to work with but whatever.

Still some good money there.

Does the football revenue (those numbers provided), have anything to do with hiring a basketball coach? Just curious.

It affects how much we spend on the coach of every other sport. Why wouldn't it affect how much we spend on the basketball coach?

Because I'm not aware of how profits are specifically used, shared, and directed within the athletic department.

The reason for this is OU puts more money into their other sports I'd think. Gasso, Coale, etc are more than likely well paid compared to the rest of the Big XII programs...
