About time!

Yikes. We are not exactly speed demons getting across the half court line.

Sure we will adapt, but it's going to make a pressure defense and a man-to-man defense a lot more popular in the women's game.

As much as a lot of women's teams turn it over (including us), I could see the number of turnovers increasing significantly if this is implemented.

For the record, I believe the 10-second rule should be enacted in the womens' game.

I agree. There was never a good reason for the men's and women's games to have different backcourt rules.

All basketball rules should be the same; I still don't understand why some states don't have shot clocks for high school. :facepalm

Probably the cost of the equipment for the school districts in this case.

I think it's a state thing, like say Florida and Texas? They don't use shot clocks

I hate this rule change...it will just continue the making of women's basketball about which team has the best most physical athletes and less about having skilled players. Jeff Walz, Gary Blair, Mike Carey and all the coaches that want to make it a foulfest just cheered.

I think every great team has both, skilled players as well as physical players. All of our best teams had both.

Just to clarify, some skilled players are also very physical players...Caton Hill is my favorite.

I don't disagree...top 10 teams that have a chance to win it all will have both. But I am just thinking in terms of the long-term direction of the sport...this will just continue the trend of making the game more about physical play and make it less free flowing and a game of skill.

I guess I am in the minority, but I like the game like it has been.

Does any state use shot clocks for high school ball?

Currently, eight U.S. states require the use of a shot clock of either 30 or 35 seconds in high school competition: California, Maryland (girls only), Massachusetts, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Washington
