Akolda Manyang

Akolda has made it to Norman. He will help the team with a defensive presence that hasn't been there in too many years to remember.

Coach, the Faith 7 game is Saturday night in Shawnee. So, presumably Odomes won't be at OU at least until next week.

BTW, am I the only one that is jacked about that kid. He looks terrific on film. I intend to be at the Faith 7 game to see him live. 6'7 guards with his skill don't grow on trees. Hopefully, he has a good head on his shoulders and takes to the coaching at OU like Buddy and Counsins. IMO, nobody coaches wings/big guards up like Lon and his staff. They may be the best in the business. Starting with Richmond and all the way through to buddy, Lon has shown he knows what to do with the tweeners on the perimeter.

Cowboy, I’ll also be there Saturday night with a friend of mine to scout Rashard Odomes. Like you, I am excited about his arrival in Norman, for all the reasons you give in your post. I'm optimistic about all the new guys coming in.

It is a pity that Christian James is not on the list of players for the Faith-7 game. I wonder how his health is advancing. I guess it would be unwise for him to risk his recovery in a high school all-star game.

I'm with you guys about being excited to see Odomes play, and hope to get a report from you about the Faith 7 game. As for his size I think he's closer to 6'5". I've seen a couple of places say he's 6'6" but certainly not more. He's kind of the "wild card" in this recruiting class and could turn out to be a steal.

As for James, he came back and played 2 games in the playoffs for Bellaire. Stikboy went to the games and reported. I think he was out of shape and had picked up some extra weight which is understandable. It sounded like he played inside and was primarily a rebounder/defender. That was in February and he has had 4 more months to get into shape again, so hopefully he has worked hard.

I think he is moving in at OU then faith 7 game in Shawnee then back to OU. He's not going back home after the game.

Is the game gonna be televised or tape delayed anywhere?
