I've watched all the teams this year......Just curious if anyone else has any Big 12 first team picks.

I have a couple that I would think would be "no brainers"....

Trae Young

Svi Mykhailiac

The league is top heavy with PG this year, and most score a lot but Trae seems to be an easy pick.

And Kansas seems to go as Svi goes. He can shoot the three and drive to the bucket.

Center could be a tough decision....I have my favorite, what's yours?

Svi is not a no brainer right now. Graham is though. Give me azubuke over Bamba too. Dean wade from KSU is in the mix.

They probably won't do it by position per se because this is a guard-heavy league. I would go with:
TY
Carter
Keenan Evans
Bamba
Svi or Graham from KU

As great as Bamba is, he may have a tough time making it unless his numbers are off the charts or Texas finishes strong. So many great guards and most are upperclassmen, which influences some voters. Wade has been great and if he makes it, someone among Svi, Graham, Evans, and Carter is getting left off. Might come down to Svi and Wade if things continue like they are.

Bamba is averaging 13, 11 and 4.4 blocks. He's the only thing keeping Texas from the basement of the Big XII. He completely changes every game that he's in, and is an absolute no brainer.

The idea of Azibuike over Bamba is laughable. For reference, in the Kansas game, he went for 22 15 and 8.

I think it should be:

Trae
Jevon Carter
Svi
Kenrich Williams
Bamba

My guess is that they put Graham on instead of Svi, which in no way shape or form should happen.

Considering OU's propensity to finish weakly at the rim, Bamba may have a triple double Saturday night.

I didn’t realize his numbers were that good. Every time I’ve seen him play, which admittedly isn’t much, he has been underwhelming. He appears to be the first team big man.

if kansas wins the leage they likely get both graham and svi and williams doesn't make it

Graham is so so overrated. He never finishes at the rim and acts hurt every single time. SVI is better.
Trae
SVI
Carter
Evans
Bamba or Williams.

No way a Kstate gets on the first team this year.

Graham is not overrated. He is leading KU in scoring at 18 per game and adding almost 8 assists too. Not to mention he is by far their best defender. He is a no brainer for first team. Svi will be lucky to make second team imo.

Obviously Trae is the only clear cut choice. There's a legitimate debate to be had at every other spot. I'm not sure what the rules are on how they allocate "positions", but if it's me picking, my other 4 are:

Graham
K. Evans
K. Williams
Mo Bamba

If the rules dictate that a "wing" type player be included instead of 3 true guards, then I'd probably go with Svi instead of Evans.

PG: Trae Young (OU)
SG: Jevon Carter (WVU)
SF: Svi (Kansas)
PF: Vladimir Brodziansky (TCU)
C: Bamba (Texas)

I would say Newman, Vick and Azubuike are all better defenders than Graham. I just think Svi is the better player and makes that team go.. Best shooter in the conference(besides Young) and is averaging what Graham is. Graham hasn't been himself this season.

Bamba is averaging 15/12/5 in conference games. He’s a lock.

Maybe he can catch the flu tomorrow.

I think he's actually been better than advertised. Much more capable offensive player than expected.
