Allen to Leave Team, Focus on Family

How is it good for both sides? His departure hurts us. Even if he wasn't going to contribute, he'd at least be another body in practice.

thats so weak... walk-ons are for that purpose..

You have a really strange view of reality. There aren't any 7' walk ons that we have, heck, our walk-ons are going to be getting as much gametime as our scholarship players if things keep on the same path.

Faith I love your optimism. However, when you finally crack, I fear you will go crazy like some past and present posters have done. I hope Orlando does well.

he isnt 7 ft either, and i dont care how tall he is.. if he is/was only used as a body in practice you dont need to be 7 ft to work a post player, i was a stopper and faced many kids taller than me.. so i dont have a lot of stock in height especially in players that are just "another body" in practice

Lol a "stopper" huh?? You must have been the unathletic kid that was big and just fouled people I guess. If you've played a second of actual basketball you would know height is a big thing and that playing against height and size even if not good makes you better. Also, there isn't anyone to replace this body in practice. No beau around anymore.

Is there any chance we could talk Allen into rejoining the team? We don't have a center, so he would be guaranteed to play a bunch of minutes.

If he did return, he could work on his masters which would benefit him as well.

Somebody mentioned the other day it wasn't O's choice to quit basketball...they said he made a decision that forced him too. Not sure if that means he was told by Capel to do X and didn't do it so he's done, or if it's something else completely.

There are so many rumors going around that I don't pay much attention to anything other than what can be verified.

Seems like it was somebody who has been known in the past to have good info...maybe coacht or chewy.

Of course, that doesn't mean what they said was accurate.

Big O is done with basketball. He'll most likely leave Oklahoma but will continue his degree at another University if he transfers.

If true, unwise move on Capel's fault. Allen may not be the next Shaquille O'Neal, but he's a senior who's 6'10". We need every single player we can get.

Big O did something that was stupid and got his ass booted for it. We're talking something immature and idiotic and it was the final straw among many.
