Ana?

They won’t know for sure until they do an MRI..those are usually done after the swelling goes down..so might be a few more days. I live in Norman and the second hand information I have been told from people that know athletic department employees is “it looks bad”. I was at the game and the way she went down and her pain reaction reminded me of the ACL tear that happened to Whitney Hand as a 5th year senior. Really feel bad for Ana.

Yep, it was VERY reminiscent of Whitney's final OU injury. I would be shocked if Ana is able to return this season. Just terrible.

I thought the same thing, almost in the area of the floor that Whitney injured her ACL, with the same reaction. I remember when Maddie Manning went down at the preseason scrimmage. I was sitting on the floor and her reaction when she went down with her second ACL was also like Ana's and Whitney's. I hope its only a sprain, but it sure didn't look good to me either.

There was no close-up on the replay I watched, but it appeared to me that Ana's knee collided with the knee/leg of the defender. I watched it a couple of times and I could never see Ana's knee giving way or being twisted in a way you normally see when someone tears their ACL..

She may have indeed torn her ACL, but I swear I saw nothing on the replay to indicate that is what happened.

ACL surgery today.

I’ll pray it will be successful!

Does Ana have anymore eligibility left? If she does, it would be great to see her finish her career on a high note, injury free.

Also trusting her doctors will do a great job and the surgery will be successful.

Given the her injury was in the 10th game of the season as I understand it she would be eligible to get a 6th year hardship ruling. It will be up to her to decide if she wants to apply for the hardship and come back.

Might be best to walk away while she still can..But not for me to decide

Yep, the repercussions of multiple joint injuries often do not really occur until decades later.

With the advances medicine has made in the past decade, an ACL can potentially be stronger following surgery, assuming it's properly rehabbed.
