Here's the quote from Katz:

“He’s not just the top freshman guard in the country: he may be right in line with Marvin Bagley of Duke as one of the top candidates for National Player of the Year.”

For sake of argument let’s say TY wins POY. That would be three Heismann and three Naismith winners since 2002. Six combined. Does any other school have more than two?

USC has won 3 Heisman's since 2002 if you are counting Reggie Bush

USC has 3 Heisman's in that period. Ohio State is the only school that has one of each in that period. Texas has two Naismith's and got robbed of a Heisman.

Really, the only schools that have had decent sustained basketball and football success over that period are OU, Texas, Michigan State, Ohio State and Florida. Michigan State tends to play a grind it out style of ball on both fronts that is not conducive to producing the stats to win national awards.

OU should have an extra Heisman, too. (Peterson)

Regardless of our fan situation, Lon should have no trouble convincing players they will get notoriety and get drafted.

It is. He lets them play. We should have more fans in the seats, team is fun to watch.
