Another choke

For what it's worth, that was no choke job by our Sooners. Texas won because of two unbelievable shots in the last 10 seconds of the game.

I, too, am very proud of our Sooners for the way they fought back against some very long odds and almost pulled out the win.

This is a ridiculous take. We were a #1 seed last year. That's because we played soft in crunch time? We closed out West Virginia on the road less than a week ago!

You mean when we missed a game winning FF in regulation by an almost 90% shooter ???

Again Lon's teams are never that sharp in end of the game /win it at the line situations .

Saying that a lot of games it isn't close because he is such a great coach .

I think pre game strategy/running a program /recruiting talent that for your System .....he's one of the best coaches in American hands down .

Timeouts/ designing plays in game situations /end of game situations .......aren't his strengths.

Well I was on a month long hiatus when they lost 6 in a row as well, so somewhat consistent :woot

I'm not bothered by your posts at all. I can appreciate a qaulity court jester.....and I think most of us, at some point, feel exactly what you are typing. But I would appreciate it if you would make them stop losing.

Even that joke of a team managed to win 13 games. That alone says it all.

With the number of close games with a 4 point lead or more in the last minute we should have learned how to finish with a win. Instead each loss is a circumstance of play worse than we did in the previous loss. Moreover we cannot blame this all on the freshman has Woodward has had turnovers and missed free throws at a critical time that resulted in two of those losses.

I think this team mentally knows they are going to lose and they just self destruct. How does McGusty not know how to call timeout when pinned on the baseline after getting the rebound. He has only been playing the game half his life.

With 10 games remaining on the schedule I fully expect the group of kids will go into 2018 having not yet learned how to finish a game for a win.

We have lost some insanely tough games and have not had a ton of luck go our way (seeing that we are ranking 338th in Kenpom's Luck rating while holding the 4th hardest schedule). However, the last time I was this frustrated on close games was the 2014 season. We lost 6 of out 9 games decided by 4 points or less. That was when our stellar group were all juniors. They learned from it and won 8 out of 12 the next year. We will grow, the important thing is for the coaches to encourage and not allow these guys to beat themselves up. I know we won more games the 2014 year, but it still feels the same when we get into close games, hard to have confidence.

Only difference is that team still went to the sweet 16. This team isn't even winning 16 games...

Lon's record in 5 point games is horrible for whom I think is a great coach .
It's just his greatest weakness . I'm not knocking him , just being honest .
His teams play scared at the end of games ,hell he looks scared at the end of games .
The best players on this team are two true freshman . The future is bright IF this incoming class and the following class come through .
