Another typical Big XII season

boca is trying to say the ACC is better than the Big 12. I don't think he's said anything about the Big East.

If you think this year was a weak year for the Big 12 go back to the 06-07 Capel's first year. That was a weak year for the conference. The year Kansas won the Title might be considered a weak year for the conference also except for the glaring fact that Kansas won it all.

Here's the ACC rundown:

1 seed Duke beat a 16, an 8, and a 4.
4 seed Maryland beat a 13 and lost to a 5.
7 seed Clemson lost to a 10.
9 seed Wake Forest beat an 8 and lost to a 2.
9 seed Fla. State lost to an 8.
10 seed Ga. Tech beat a 7 and lost to a 2.

That's two first-round losses -- (a 7 to a 10 and a 9 to an 8), two wins over higher seeds (one was 9 over 8, barely counts), four losses to higher seeds (one was a 9 to an 8), and two losses (so far) to teams with lower seeds (1 seed lower, 3 seeds lower). There are no really bad losses, but when you only have two remotely high seeds, that will happen.

Overall, the ACC did okay, but there's no question it's a weaker conference. Duke's the cream of the ACC crop this year, and by a wide margin.

Maybe I missed it, other than Missouri beating 7 seeded Clemson please show me another Big XII team that beat a lower seed.

Also please point out any Big XII team that has beat a top 20 team (4 seed or better).

All I see is a bunch of unrelated nonsense. The Big XII once again was consistently upset by higher seeds and mid majors and is the only major conference that does not have a win vs a top 20 team (4 seed or better).

I laugh at skyvue going through every game which just proves my point.

With every passing day I understand more and more how my home state voted 67% for daisy mae.

Boca is prime reason why I laugh when people talk about other teams fans being bad. :ez-laugh:

If you've kept up with the tournament the past several seasons, you would realize that your statement couldn't be further from the truth. Maybe you didn't see my past response on this subject, but the Big 12 has taken a back seat to no one since 2002. They've arguably been the best conference in tournament results since then.

It's called beating a higher seed, not lower. That alone renders your tourney posts as clueless. 1 is the highest seed; 16 the lowest.

We all clear on that now?

As for your question, show me where anyone said that another Big 12 team beat a higher seed -- I certainly didn't.

But guess what -- coming into today, the Big 12 had played just two games against higher seeds, and the conference is 1-1 in those games, with #10 Mizzou beating #7 Clemson and #5 A&M losing a very close one to #4 Purdue.

That's it. Every other game the Big 12 has played prior to today has been against a lower seed.

I'm spelling it out for you over and over, but if you can't grasp the facts (and then you're going to mock me for presenting them to you), I give up. I'm a little embarrassed for you, to tell the truth.

I'm just telling myself this thread was started as flame bait, that way I can lie to myself by saying no one really thinks like that...

I should probably approach every thread boca starts as flamebait. I wouldn't often be proven wrong.

Hey cheno, tell us again how you didn't see the Kansas game. ha ha. Yeah like you go on vacation during march madness to places with no satellite TV. ha ha ha ha

typical kansas dork

At the end of the day the Big XII is the only major conference who did not beat a single 1-4 seed.

And LOL @ skyvue debating over high seed, or low seed. Last time I checked 16 is a high number which would make it a high seed and 1 is a low number making it a low seed.

You know like golf, where the lower the score the better. lol @ anybody who says a 1 seed is a high seed.

Exactly, the Big XII teams were upset and never made it to the point of being able to beat a better seed. ie, OVERRATED. again.

In the tourney the 1's are considered high seeds and 16's would therefore be a low seed. I guess you are laughing at everyone because you are the only person I have heard say it otherwise.

The Big 12 was arguably the strongest conference in the tournament this year and it was a weak year for the conference. This year wasn't as good as last year for the conference. But it wasn't near as a bad as 07 was. Not near as good as 03 and 04 were for the conference. Solid year though. It might have been about average for this conference in the last decade. So yes I guess it is typical of the Big 12 but typical is still 2 elite 8 teams which is better than any other conference.

Boca has an ingenious way of avoiding replying when he's proved wrong. He just says he doesn't reply to people who he doesn't feel are worthy for him to respond too.

Pretty smart.
