I think the top six are good. Mississippi State still has some things to prove. Stanford ranked too high. Purdue and VPI deserve attention, especially since VPI beat Tennessee in Knoxville. Sometimes, teams in the 7-25 group look good. Sometimes, they don't.

Sometimes, they don't seem to pay attention. They have ignored Stanford's loss to Santa Clara, in Palo Alto, as well as a romp by Arizona State.

They seem to have ignored the fact that Tennessee has lost in Knoxville to Texas, Virginia Tech, and Florida. Oregon State lost to Tennessee and Notre Dame,, but they were crushed at UCLA.

They are slow to change their minds.
