One of our games is against the Sydney Kings on August 10. I read that the Sydney Kings are scheduled to play the Utah Jazz in October. Is that the same team? Seems like one of those games would be a huge mismatch.

Talk about getting them ready for the Big 12!

The National Basketball League (NBL) is the pre-eminent professional men's basketball league in Australia and New Zealand. The league was founded in 1979 and is currently contested by eight teams; seven from Australia and one from New Zealand.

OU win play two games against teams from the NBL ... Sydney Kings and Cairns Taipans.

Tough competition!!

Former Sooner Ricky Grace (1987-88) was a star in the NBL playing for the Perth Wildcats. In 2003 Grace was selected to the NBL's 25th Anniversary Team.

I'm a big fan of us playing pro league teams. That will only make these guys better! And their learning curve will be extremely quick

No, not him again! We had to play him for like 7 straight years.

Important to note that the Kings will be missing at least four of their regulars and will be very different to the team that will play the Jazz. Three are playing for Australia in the FIBA Asia Cup and the fourth is recovering from offseason knee surgery. Perry Ellis is at this stage not likely to play (albeit that could change) and we're still not sure if Isaac Humphries (ex Kentucky) will suit up. The team will feature a lot of younger guys looking for contracts and just a couple of the usual roster, which is why it's being called the Sydney Kings Invitational Team.
