Something occurred to me when I tuned into part of the Baylor vs. West Virginia game. Odyssey Sims will score how ever many points she needs to score in order for her team to win. If you look at her two highest scoring games this season, they were against two of the best defensive teams in the country (Kentucky and West Virginia). I honestly think the only way to stop her is to foul her out of the game. I hesitate to say that she is unstoppable because Baylor has yet to play UConn, but I honestly don't expect her to score less than 30-40 points in that game either. She will likely need 60+ in order for them to pull an upset, but I'm sure Geno Auriemma will figure out some way of slowing her down. If she scores more than 30 against UConn, I don't see how she couldn't end up the National Player of the Year.

I don't know that I think Baylor will go undefeated throughout conference play, but I think they definitely have a chance to. Odyssey Sims is just playing at a completely different level. As much as I hate to watch Baylor play, you can't deny she is fantastic.

I don't think Baylor can stay with UCONN for 40 minutes because the Huskies are too talented across their roster. But, there is no doubt Sims is a phenomenal basketball player.

I thought it would come down to Odyssey vs Aaryn for big 12 POY. I was also looking forward to Baylor not being at the top of the big 12, but it seems like Sims is in a league of her own, and Baylor could very well win the big 12. I've been most impressed with Roberson Kims kid. she could be on an All big 12 team.

I wasn't sure about Sims until I saw her in Moscow. She dominated.

I agree. She has played very well in the few times I've watched them.

I think Odyssey has thrived this year mainly from not running the point as often freeing her up to get the ball on the wing and score. Nia Johnson is stepping into the PG role nicely and the team seems to play more smoothly and settle down when O and Nia are both on the floor. I am impressed this year with the play of Nina Davis. She has a no fear mentality and is very aggressive on the boards knowing where to be in order to grab the ball. Believe it or not we have a better rebounding team this year than when we had BG. I just hope we keep it close against UCONN, but expect a blow out cuz they are far more talented at every position except O's counterpart. Excited about this year in that really 4 or 5 teams have a legitimate shot to win the conference so it will be a battle every game. Sic'em!!

Baylor easily took care of TCU today as Sims ended with 28 points.

My theory is the tougher the opponent, the more she is going to score.
Her two highest scoring performances were against arguably their toughest competition - Kentucky (47) and West Virginia (48).

It's going to be really interesting to watch her against UConn. As long as she doesn't get in foul trouble, she could put up really big numbers. Geno Auriemma said she's the best player that he's seen on film and it isn't even close. Even UConn doesn't have a player that can guard her one-on-one. If Baylor can get UConn bigs (Dolson and Stewart) into foul trouble, it could be an interesting game.
