They are apparently going to be wearing toupees. Also, here's a sign they made...

Castiglione and Boren would never allow an OU student to do this. It is in poor taste, but funny.

No doubt. When Bob Knight first came to Norman with Tech, a student had a "Hey Knight, what's up?" sign in reference to his spat with the student at Indiana. Castiglione had it taken away.

Boren and Joe C. should be sued if they tried to stop that sign. Once they allow signs, they can't decide what is on them unless it is obscene and that clearly is not obscene.

I know first hand, the event staff at those games are a veritable gestapo. I understand the need to prevent some inflammatory actions from occurring, but the students are just trying to have fun and be creative. The administration almost acts as if the students are the enemy, at times.

refuse to give them your sign and call the ACLU. It is BS for the University of Oklahoma to tell students what they can and cannot say in a public forum. I am not a huge fan of the ACLU but I think they would take a case like this. They are big on first amendment issues and I see this as a clear violation.

Well, the ACLU can't help you on that night. I guess you would have to miss the basketball game and I'd have been pissed if I had missed a game when I was a student over that.

I agree but it is BS for Boren, Joe C or any other person working for the State of Oklahoma to police what a person can and cannot say. This is especially true when the sign is not volgur. I think it would be in poor taste for someone my age to bring a sign like that to a college basketball game but it is perfectly acceptable for a student. The crazy signs and antics of the students is what makes college basketball such a great sport.

That is why this year is the perfect time to make a stand. Who cares if you miss a game right now?

I agree. Remember that Jethro (big country) sign and the Fabio signs at the 94 or 95 bedlam game in Norman? Those were classic but I doubt the AD gestapo would allow them in the LNC now.

Boy I can remember those days when Baylor & Texas A&M used to not even have a student section at the games, kinda like OU is now..Go Sooners!!!!!!

Clever sign! It will be interesting to see if ESPN allows their cameraman to show it in a close up? ESPN reporters are known for playing politics, and KU has always been one of their favorite schools.

Saw an article this morning about the Tennessee Vols fans proclaiming that ESPN "hates" them and was unjustly portraying them during the Vandy-UT game.

Everyone thinks ESPN is out to get them.

I'm looking forward to this Baylor vs Kansas game. I sit right behind Self and I have a bag of goodies planned for him. We'll see if I can get him, Tyshawn or Josh Selby engaged in dialogue. I think Taylor and/or Selby are cocky enough to do it.

That student was me. And yes, Joe C's gestapo confiscated the sign.

But I still got on the front page of both the Oklahoman and Tulsa World sports sections. I might've been in the Transcript too, but I can't remember.

Nice...pull off the upset so I can gain ground in the Big 12 pick'em. ;) Baylor needs to get one of these W's.

Almost ten years later, it is still hilarious to me that "What's up, Knight?" was the thing brought him down.

If that's true no wonder the students don't get into it at OU hoops games. That's terrible. It's all in fun.

I fully expect Baylor to win tonight. KU has been playing lackadasical and are ripe for a loss. Baylor is the type of team who plays way over their heads in games like this and lose games they should win like Saturday at Iowa St.
