Anyone have an eyewitness scouting report on the Bears? What should we expect?

In looking at their schedule, South Carolina and Vandy appear to be the best wins, while their lone loss was to Illinois, who lost to every "name" team on their schedule, minus a 3-point win over Mizzou.

I have not seen them play, but just looking at stats their scoring is down - 70 points per game and their shooting is 128th in the country. Usually Baylor scores at a higher clip than this.

Obviously home wins are critical in any Big 12 race, but would love OU to make a statement Saturday with a double-digit victory.

ask questions and I'll answer them. I've seen every minute of every Baylor game this year.

Cliff notes:

-- identity of this team is definitely different than past Scott Drew teams- much tougher and better on defense; can't shoot or score as easily.

-- one of the best offensive rebounding teams I have ever seen. Gathers, Prince, O'Neale, Motley, Deng and Wainright (mostly the first 4 I mentioned) just have a nose for the ball and are relentless on the offensive glass.

-- terrible free throw shooting team (63%)

-- very good ball movement on offense; just not a great shooting team. Medford- the juco PG- is a really good player. Much better than the stats will tell you. Tough defender; good distributor; takes care of the ball and will make the big shot.

-- Chery sat out 4 games in a row with plantar fasciitis. He's healthy now. He missed the Illinois game and they really missed him because Illinois' strength is their backcourt.
Chery is Baylor's best player overall I think but if it is not him it is Royce O'Neale- who is like a swiss army knife. Does a lot of things very well; nothing great.

-- I think OU wins; Baylor has played 6 games against what I would consider good competition: @South Carolina; @Vandy; Memphis; Illinios; SFA and Texas A&M. They went 5-1 in those games. I do think winning on the road at South Carolina and Vandy will help the Bears prepare for this one but OU is better than both of those teams by a good margin.

Thanks for the info.

Was the Bowl game painful?

Our was but probably not as much because it was fairly meaningless. I would say the OSU game was more painful. If you don't know the OU v. OSU was very similar to Baylor's bowl game. Just a complete choke job late.

Petty had a great game and somehow Baylor still lost. Very tough to figure that one out. Every game but the Baylor wen the way I wanted yesterday.

ha- well played. I was there. But I'm more of a basketball first guy so I recovered quick. And I was well aware of what happened at the end of the OSU game, I feel your pain. TCU has to carry the Big12's torch this year. Maybe KSU will win tonight.

Watched them a couple times earlier in the year. They might be right there with Washington talent-wise in terms of teams OU has played.
