I make no secret of the fact that I detest Baylor and Kim Mulkey. But, it is hard not to like Nina Davis. She is all about effort and work. At 5-11, she is the leading interior player in the conference? She scored 21.1 with 8.3 rebounds while shooting 58.4% from the field. I don't know whether I would rather have had Nina or Nneka, but both were great.
Baylor shot 47.9% from the floor which will win a lot of games. Mostly, they did it with a lot of layups. Of the 353 three-point shots taken by the team, only eight were taken by anyone other than their three "designated" three-point shooters, and they were zero for eight. The three-point shooters were 31.6, 36.4, and 37.1% from three point range. They were good, but not great, from the free throw line. It takes some discipline to say that it isn't your job to take threes and to lay off.

Transfer: Alexis Jones G transfer from Duke.
Wright and Agbuke are gone. Both were effective. By the end of the year, I was beginning to be surprised at how good Sune had become. She hit her free throws and made the interior tough, a good combination with Davis. Cave, Prince, Wallace, and Johnson are back with Davis. That is a solid group.
Baylor went big in recruiting with three over 6-3 (6-5 and 6-7). They also signed two guards. It was the #4 class. I like the prospects of a couple of them.
There is no doubt that Baylor is still the team to beat. But, we did beat them, and we will probably improve more this season than Baylor. I see Baylor as the solid favorite, but with OU closing a bit. Texas still has to show me, but they have enough to be third without a tie.
