Bedlam Round 3

Edited, my point remains. The 2nd Bedlam game was very close and OSU was without a difference maker.

OSU is about to do an impression of 2011 UCONN

Seriously? Does the delusion ever end?

Even in the "close" game in Stillwater, Lon outcoached Travy by a bunch. Yes, OSU has the overall talent edge, but OU is a better TEAM and that's why OU beats OSU.

Lon is obviously a better coach, but I would argue that OSU did not have the "overall talent edge" when we played in Stillwater.

Don't act as if OU doesn't have any talent. Woodard, Heild, Clark, Spangler, and Cousins all have some pretty serious talent, otherwise OU wouldn't be sitting at 2nd in the Big 12.

In that game, OU had eight players play 19 minutes or more. OSU's starting five were the only players who played 19 minutes or more. Christian Sager was next with 14 minutes.

When you can throw 8 Big 12 scholarship players against 5, that's a talent edge.

OSU might have had an overall "talent edge" back in November, but losing Cobbins, Clark and Smart (for the game in question) totally erased that edge.

And, of course, there is a massive coaching mismatch.

I don't want to play OSU again. They're playing better and beating a rival a third third time in the same season is tough.

If WVU beats KU, which is very possible with Embiid out, or OSU wins in Ames, not as likely, we'll play either WVU or Baylor.

Both much better matchups, I think. WVU would be ideal.

Anyone who "wants" to play them again is crazy. That said, if we have to (and there's a decent chance) then I'm not scared of it. We were clearly the better team in both matchups.

And when you throw in the three officials, that gives the Sooners an 11-5 advantage. Right? The bolded part of your post is in the running for "most ridiculous post of the year" honors.

WTF? I didn't say anything about officials.

And explain to me how it's ridiculous.

You're going to tell me that if two teams are playing, and one is 8-deep with scholarship players and the other is 5-deep, that the 8-deep team doesn't have a talent advantage???

When Christian F-ing Sager is our only player off the bench to log double-digit minutes, you're telling me that doesn't provide an overall "talent edge" to OU?

LOL.

I was basically pulling your chain about the way aggie fans constantly whine about so-called "unfair advantages." You actually seem to be a fairly level-headed guy (most of the time), but the majority of OSU fans would almost certainly say the Cowboys would have won that game in Stillwater if the officials hadn't cheated.

You might try being a little less thin skinned. And dropping F-bombs all over the place does nothing to enhance your position either.

LOL!!!

You'll never see me complaining about the refs.

Complaining about the refs is for losers. I can't stand that junk.

Everybody knows that Big 12 refs are wildly inconsistent at best, and mostly incompetent at worst... and yet everybody is always convinced they are getting "screwed." (I find it especially hilarious when KU fans complain about the refs, BTW.)

Nope. You're not getting "screwed"... you're getting "Big 12 ref'd." ;)

"Thin skinned"? This is a message board. The whole concept revolves around posting opinions and then responding to others' opinions.

If someone makes a nonsensical reply to one of my opinions, I'm going to respond.

That's kind of how things work.

:D

I don't think big 12 refs are bad. Basketball is an extremely tough game to call. Try reffing some high school games or even JH to know what I mean.
