Besides Blake, who is your favorite player that was recruited to the University of Oklahoma by Jeff Capel? This is NOT best player or best athlete, but your favorite player.

For me it is NOT Willie, Tiny or TMG. No way. No how.

Instead, it is either Tony Crocker or Cade Davis. I know Crocker committed before Coach Capel arrived, but he stayed with the Sooners and his freshman coach was Capel, so I include him as a Capel recruit.

I also have a soft spot in my heart and memory for Beau Gerber. He stuck it out and helped the team for four years.

I have high hopes for Cam Clark to become my favorite Capel-era recruit besides Blake.

I agree about Beau. He was a "glue" for the team - liked by all.

Definitely Tony. The only one that didn't bail on Capel from that class, and he played very well for four years and absolutely laid it on the line and played his ass off his senior year under some tough circumstances. I feel terrible for him that it his career ended on the note it did.

Sadly when you eliminate the guys that left there are not many options. Tony Crocker, Cade Davis, Ryan Wright, Omar Leary, Gerber and Franklin is everyone isn't it?

And this year's roster.

Thinking of changing my vote to Abdi Ahmed.

I can clearly remember the Sweet-16 game Tony Crocker had in the big win over Syracuse. I was at that game in Memphis and it was a lot of fun to be a Sooner basketball fan that day!

Tony Crocker for me as well. I really enjoyed watching him progress over his four year career.

Roe, even though he's yet to play, he's a quality player with Beau Gerbers attitude. Not to many talented kids are humble.

This.

My attitude with capel may have completely changed from night to day. But I will always give capel credit for getting Blake. I don't care if you guys think it was the easiest thing in the world to do. He still made it happen! And No one else he has recruited remotely compares

I can't really think of one that stands out. Maybe Bobby Maze. I wish we would have kept him. I contend Capel is a horrible recruiter. Just based completely on the evidence of what his players have done at OU. He hasn't really got another guy that's made an impact. Even Crocker wasn't really recruited by him. He just stayed from the class that was already there. Same with Keith Clark who stayed. The second best player he's recruited is probably Cade Davis or Willie Warren. That's a pretty wide drop.

Tony Crocker. Guy stuck with the program when everyone else bailed, worked hard for four years to become a pretty good player. Always worked hard and had tremendious heart, he was a great Sooner.
