Best dunker in OU basketball history?

WW also had some sick dunks his Freshmen year, like the last 2.

Besides Blake's magic, maybe the greatest dunk I witnessed at the LNC, was T Everett throwing it off the glass at an angle then out of nowhere Taj rises up on the break between two guys to throw it down. Can't remember opponent, maybe Mizzou, but sure remember dunk

I remember them connecting on that vs. Ok State in '05. LNC went wild on that play.

In no particular order:

- Calvin Pierce
- Skeeter Henry
- Mike Bell (master of the power flush)
- Wayman Tisdale
- Taj Grey
- Al Beal (master of the alley-oop; one of which almost included a rail-thin Aggie center with it in '77).
- Harvey Grant (see below)

- Stacey King
- Daryan Selvy
- Jason Detrick.

excellent list.

TG's dunk against North Carolina was sick, I think it was OU's first points of the game.

One guy who had some good, but basic dunks, when the NCAA first started allowing the dunk again in '76-77, was Clifford Johnson. He was a freshman at OU the same year that Al Beal was, but he left after his sophomore year.

The best dunk I've ever seen in the LNC, bar none, was by Jason Detrick against Central Connecticut State in the first game of the 2002 season. He drove the baseline and threw it down over the top of some poor dude with EXTREME prejudice. It was gorgeous.

The second best dunk is the first full play you see on the '88 highlight tape. King blocks a shot and rifles the carom, one-handed, up the floor to Blaylock. Blaylock corrals the ball behind his back, I **** you not, and kinda flicks it to his left hand. Once under control, he feeds it to a streaking Tony Martin who's roaring into the lane. Some clown from Missouri tries to take a charge and gets totally tea-bagged. Full blown destruction. You get a glance at the OU bench as Martin does the cabbage patch above the poor Mizzou clown and you can see the whole group has formed some sort of patchwork conga line in celebration of the dunk (assistants included). You've got to see it. It's fantastic.

The best dunkers:

Calvin Pierce
Shawn Clark
Andre Wiley
Mike Bell
Angelo Hamilton
Taylor Griffin
Blake Griffin

I got a shot of that dunk by Tony, but it's in black-and-white (and I'd have to dig for it in an "old photos" drawer). Lee Coward, ironically, was the MU player who got tea-bagged. That was an epic beat-down of the preseason Big 8 favorite that day in Norman.

It was unexpected that he dunked over a 5-11 guy?

No, aggroid. It was unexpected to see a 6-10 college center go coast to coast and beat a PG to the rim. Watch the replay again. Its impressive.

Angelo Hamilton could slam it down too.

I think it was Angelo Hamilton - aka the next Michael Jordan as dubbed by Al Eschbach - who threw down a sick 360 dunk on a breakaway againt Duke in Cameron.

You are correct sir...Also on our way back from a 15 point deficit to push it into overtime. Coach k about blew a gasket!! :woot

Hamilton's dunk was the sickest...I remember watching that game. Dookie V. calling out our team as being "suck" and them Hamilton for showboating, next thing you know we are back in it.

I was on a ski trip, watching it with my dad. I think Dook led by 20, and Vitale had basically called it "over" at that point. Boy, did he almost look really stupid after Hamilton led OU all the way back to tie.

In fact, I think Hamilton stole the ball from Hurley at half-court at the end of regulation. I think Dookie V would have falled on a sword had Hamilton made his desperation heave at the end of regulation.

And, that dunk during OU's rally was incredible, BTW.
