Who are your top 2 Xs and Os coaches in the country?

Let's leave out Geno because he's a given. Let's also leave out Sherri due to bias.

Gary Blair ,Brenda Freese'

You could be right and I admire the ability of both of those coaches a great deal.

But, to be a bit different, I am going with Blair and Fennelly. While Bill doesn't recruit that well, he does know the game extremely well.

Kim, McGraw, Vandever. Summit was also good.

I think Blair is pretty good but his main gig is to get quick physical players and slash and hack the hell out of everybody and dare the officials to stop you for the whole game.

Sherri is good with the transition game and out of bounds plays but not half court game. A lot of good transition game coaches have difficulty with the half court game.

I'm not blown away with Walz. His recruiting is very strong but he doesn't win any more than the talent on his team would indicate.

Dawn Staley is really developing as a coach but I'm not sure she is there with x's and o's at this point.

I tend to agree with this.

He was Gary Blair's x/o guy when A&M won the NC. He was the architect of their defense.

He is now head coach at Miss. St where he was SEC Coach of the Year and was named one of 10 semifinalists for Naismith National COY. I think that pretty soon MSU will be in these national conversations.

I thought of him too. I am a fan of any coach who teaches defense the way Vic does. Defense will keep you in a lot of games when your offense isn't up to par that day.

When I think of good x's and o's coaches, I think of coaches like Bill Fennelly and Brian Giorgis, who do more with less.
