Smart scores more points, grabs more rebounds, dishes out more assists, gets more steals, blocks more shots, has a higher FG % and affects the game in more ways than Rodriquez. I don't understand the argument here

no doubt smart gets more rebounds and steals. he's a fantastic player and plays much bigger than rodriquez. but, he doesn't do as good a job distributing the ball, or protecting it. it's a question of whether his more efficient scoring is more valuable than rodriguez distributing the ball.

that said, i'm not arguing for rodriguez over smart. i'd put smart at the 2. jackson and rodriguez as 1s. i wouldn't argue over who goes on the first team and who on the 2nd. they're both valuable players.

You are not taking into account the fact he shoots like garbage which makes his efficiency in other areas less noteworthy. He wastes more possessions not being able to hit the broad side of a barn than the other two do.

41.1 isn't good, but he has to put up a lot of low probability shots when the offense has broken down. the bottom line is that if you take him away from kstate, kstate would be lucky to make the tournament.

Do you have any idea where OSU would be without Smart? I doubt if they would even be a factor in the Big 12.

You could say that about Osby, Smart too.

Couldn't you pretty much say that about any team that isn't "elite"...?

Most "good" teams wouldn't be good if you took away their best player.
