I noticed both Brown and Mompremier have been awarded honors, supporting those of you who said they would be superstars. Britanny Martin has won several times, as has Nina Davis.
The most worrisome thing about this is that we have yet to have a player perform well enough to be recognized on these weekly honors. Five teams have garnered all the weekly awards, with all having at least 3 winners. It does appear the farther you get from Texas, the less likely you are to win the weekly awards.
That places us (according to these voters) in the company of teams like Kansas, Kansas State, etc. If it is accurate we may finish at the bottom of the Big-12 with 12-18 loses. I sure hope it doesn't turn out that way - and will be surprised if it does. I think one problem we have is that we have scored so poorly this year. These voters are impressed by lots of points - even if it takes 25 or so shots to get there.
Of course about the same thing has happened on the men's side. Until today we had only one honoree this year.
