Big 12 Media Day Tweets, Photos and Stuff

Some tweets on OSU:

Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford says Dallas Lincoln freshman LeBryan James doesn't have to be "a savior" but improves OSU greatly.

OSU's Ford on Nash: "He's very talented and can do it all. But as a freshman, needs to learn to play both sides of the court."

Another Gillispie quote:

Billy Gillispie: "I've never been around a team that's had 10 incoming players with very little experience."

Travis Ford says Cesar Guerrero had a "stinger" and is back to attending class and wearing a neck brace.

Fred Hoiberg is really pumping up Minnesota transfer Royce White, who is the Big 12 media's preseason Newcomer of the Year.

No more 40 Minutes of Hell at Missouri. Frank Haith says they'll focus on being a halfcourt defensive team.

Great read on Royce White here

He's a fascinating player as anything short of Newcomer of the Year will be a disappointment for the Cyclone fan base. One alumni there has already proclaimed him the best Cyclone ever. White also averaged a triple double during a Des Moines area summer league (ISU, Iowa, UNI and top local high school players play in it).

We have a Dave Armstrong sighting. No word yet on the whereabouts of Doug Bell and Studio66.

What an infusion of talent coming into ISU... I mean, you add Royce White, Chris Allen, Chris Babb, Anthony Booker, and Tyrus Mcgee in ONE recruiting class. Thats a pretty amazing upgrade. Then you have Clyburn (who averaged 17 at Utah) and Korey Lucious (starting PG at MSU) coming in next year and you have completely upgraded talent at every position in 2 years.

Pretty impressive job.

Yep. Really impressed with Hoiberg. Big 12 is going to be pretty deep from top to bottom in the future with its stable of impressive coaches. Exciting and scary.

And props to abd for being the first non-OUH staff member in this thread 25-plus posts in. I was beginning to think I was posting to myself.

Another thing, I think Billy G can win at Texas Tech. Its pretty amazing what the players there are saying about how they worked under Pat Knight to how they are working under Billy G.

Jaye Crockett was saying they took plays off, everyone was out of shape, etc. Now Billy G is saying they have the most conditioned team in the country, nobody works harder, nobody is allowed to miss a single class, nobody misses study hall, ever.

They have gone from loose rules to 100% discipline.

I think they have the players to win too.

Big 12 tweet:

MBB Facts: Since 2007, the Big 12 has had more Consensus All-America selections than any other conference

RJ Young:

Kruger said it's too early for him to have an idea of whom his starting five will be for the first regular season game of the year. #Sooners

Nonsense. He just doesn't want to make it public yet. :)

Big 12 Tweet:

Since 2008, the Big 12 has had more NBA draft picks and more first-round choices than any other league

Mike Houck tweet:

After watching his coach operate at Big 12 Media Day, one thing is now clear to Andrew Fitzgerald: "Everybody loves Lon Kruger."

RJ Young tweet:

I talked to a lot of folks at Big 12 media day, whom have been writing about sports longer than me. And they all love Lon Kruger.

A writer for the OU Daily. Does a really good job, IMO. Better than your average college student writer.

Hmmm, I am surprised he can even complete a sentence, given that he is going to OU's journalism school and not Mizzou's.
