I agree except I think 3-8 is wide open. I think KU and Baylor are clearly the top 2 squads and TCU and Tech are clearly the bottom 2.
I'm the biggest Baylor homer around but I don't know why you all are saying Baylor is a cut above the other teams. Baylor has potentially a great offensive backcourt but defensively it is suspect outside of Walton (a great defender with no offense). The guards that are great offensive players (Jackson and Heslip) are suspect defenders. The guards that are good defenders are suspect offensive players (Bello and Walton).
From all reports, Isaiah Austin is everything Baylor wished Perry Jones and Quincy Miller would be. Talented; good on both ends; plays with an edge. But he's a freshman. Ricardo Gathers is very strong and a good athlete but his shooting touch is rough from outside. He's probably a Quincy Acy type player as Quincy was as an underclassman. Cory Jefferson has the skill set but it is all talk and no production so far. We will see on him.
I think Baylor is being overrated based on making the Elite 8 last year and having a good offensive backcourt returning. I would not be shocked to see them finish 8th, 2nd or somewhere in the middle. On paper, I could definitely make the argument that OU, OSU, Texas, KSU and WVU have less question marks and proven production coming back.
I see it like this. And I would be thrilled if anyone other than Kansas wins. Time for them to get a dose of humility.
1. Kansas
2-8: Baylor, OSU, OU, Texas, WVU, ISU, KSU (in no particular order)
9-10: TCU and Texas Tech
