Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Arena will host the Big 12 women’s basketball tournament in 2016, the conference announced on Thursday at the Big 12 meetings in Dallas. OKC will also host the tournament in 2014. The 2015 event will be in Dallas’ American Airlines Center.
The men’s basketball tournament is locked into Kansas City’s Sprint Center through 2016.
Not a bad idea to rotate between OKC and Dallas. And that is what it looks like they are doing now.
I wouldn't be surprised if Tulsa doesnt start making a bid in the near future. I dont know how that would work out, but it is one of the only other "centralized" city that I think will ever have a chance of hosting.
Not sure how well the Dallas area does as far as attending women's softball games, but that criteria certainly SHOULD be a major factor in what site is awarded the hosting privileges. Same goes for Tulsa.
The OKC area has proven its worthiness over the years by filling the seats.
